'The Crown' should reflect reality. Let the Queen & Prince Philip's lives of service remind everyone of the huge, tangible power for peace and stability the British monarchy is for everyone in Britain, the commonwealth and for the world. In the 19th & 20th centuries the U. S. A, France, Germany, Italy, Spain and Greece suffered in various ways civil wars, political storms, and dictatorships. This shows what can go wrong in the absence of a head of state which is above politics, which opposes illegal dictatorship and helps keep the peace. If there are many reasons England, Wales, Scotland, Canada and Australia, have had no civil war since Culloden in 1746, having a constitutional monarchy is an important one.
Of course the Queen & Prince Philip had their failings as parents, and Prince Philip could be tactless. Whatever mistakes the royal family have made, let us be grateful for the service they give, and for the difference the monarchy makes for the better, in the world. There will always be violence in the world, and billions of people who know or understand nothing of the British monarchy. The value of the British crown since the 1700s is, many billions of people have lived under it without civil war, lynching, dictatorship in their lives.

I hope they do Diana in season 5 justice and allude to her assasination. There are excellent documentaries created in Paris within weeks, with valid eye witness testinomy Diana The Night She Died. Likewise there is ample oral testimony from secret service members and the elite military, such as from Glyn Jones (ex SAS, Alan Power (ex SAS, Nick Pope (former Ministry of Defence, and possibly the most revealing from John Hopkins (ex MI5. She knew too many Royal secrets. She had a huge grudge and she was going to go public with all sorts of wild claims. My boss told me she had to die hed received orders directly from Prince Philip and we had to make it look like an accident. Id never killed a woman before, much less a princess, but I obeyed orders. I just started watching The Crown last week and am at the beginning of Season 3. I must say I was taken back, a bit confused and disappointed that they changed characters for Queen Elizabeth from Claire Foy to Olivia Colman so quickly. At the start of Season 3, Elizabeth is 38 but Olivia Colman looks well in her 50's! It's hard for me to believe her role because she is supposed to be 38 and she looks 55! LOL. It made no sense to me. They could have easily aged Claire Foy a bit with make-up and it would have been so much more believable. Claire and Olivia look nothing alike and it was a real disappointment for me because I really enjoyed Seasons 1 and 2.

Bit late to this video, but the most painful and Shocking and Top best episode for me was Aberfan THAT left a Huge impact and the best in all seasons thus far. The second spot has to go to when lord Mountbatten is assassinated with his grandsons. That episode always makes me jump. I'm probably gonna get hate for this, But I absolutely love Prince Charles! Yes, he treated Diana wrongly, but I can't hate him. I love both Diana and Charles, both on Screen and IRL. and I mean if Dianas own sons can forgive their father, why can't all of you. I mean no disrespect, to your personal views, each to their own ofc. anyway good video!

I'm currently watching season 3. I like pretty much all episodes, but those that stick with me the most so far are the ones that have to do with events involving the population. Every country has its historic moments and traumas, and I guess the show described some of the British ones (for example, I'm thinking of the Aberfan disaster or the big smoke in season 1. Being from another country, I didn't know about most of those events, so for me it was a first time discovery and I'll admit some of them made me tear up.

Okay since no one is talking about it, Beryl was plain beautiful and painful. Margarets desire to have someone to marry and settle down with even though she knew nothing about Tony. Her whole life has been a tragedy after Peter and that last scene when her almost naked photo was in newspaper and she was dancing to I Only Have Eyes For You, for once in her life feeling alive again. Vanessa was mesmerizing.

Paterfamilias (season 2 episode 9) should have made the list imo. I felt the episode portrayed prince philip's struggles during his childhood well with the loss of his sister Cecile, schizophrenic mother, and also his own relationship with a young Charles. The scene where he is walking through Nazi Germany for his sisters funeral was beautifully done and chilling at the same time.

The executive producer, Peter Morgan, is well-known for being in favour of the abolition of the monarchy and the series is completely skewed to reflect his prejudices. I'd say that a good episode is maybe 10% accurate, the rest far less.

I wish they wouldve kept the same actors all the way through and just age them its very difficult to come in and all the characters look different so you have to learn who they are all over again I think wouldve been a lot nicer to have it the same characters playing them all the way through but I love it Im addicted and I will be watching the last season

That scene in the Dear mrs Kennedy episode, where the queen finds out what Jackie been saying about her behind her back, is pure gold. Probably the best acting I've seen and it gets me every time I rewatch it. She says it all without speaking. Brilliant.
