How
I never cared for the show. All I could ever see was disgusting capitalist excess masquerading as feminism. It really didn't age well when you watch it now. The number of racist and homophobic tropes, plus the way it presents living in New York City- as if a person that writes a back-page column once a week could EVER afford to live as Carrie does- really makes it unwatchable. The whole thing is superficial in the extreme and we're supposed to believe this is what freedom for women looks like. This is unfortunately what white feminists created in the 90s as they succumbed to the end of history mythology about late-state, neoliberal economics and empire.

Carrie was just vile!
When they went to the opening of Steve's bar she asked him to confirm that Aiden didn't invite her about 4 times. She also told Samantha & Miranda to stop talking about strap-ons (Samantha had done her back in using a strap-on on her girlfriend) & look for Aiden. Basically saying stop talking about you & do the thing i want you to do!
She's a monstrously narcissistic child.
Also, i wish she'd kept her hair shorter (like in the book cover episode, she looked beautiful with it. She looked a tiny bit horse like when it was longer. Just my opinion

Im not sticking up for Aidan because he constantly gaslit Carrie. Remember when he just moved his crap into her apartment then had the unmitigated gall to make her clean out her closet? Of course she got mad - what woman wouldnt? Then - he didnt heed her timeline and pushed her to marry ASAP after that event. Shame on him. To top that disaster off he leaves in a huff and makes her pay for the apartment. Rude. She stayed true to herself and he refused to respect her needs. Good riddance.

The #1 should be the part with Charlotte. Carrie was the WORST here. She spent each and every dollar she earned on extremely expensive shoes, and then expects Charlotte to take responsibility for her choices. It was extremely nice of Samantha and Miranda to offer to help her, but no friend should be expected to give such an amount to a friend. Carrie behaved as if Charlotte HAD to help her. And her sentence about Charlotte not needing to work - that's none of Carrie's business.

I only liked Charlotte and Samantha. They were genuine. Samantha was true to herself and hardworking and Charlotte never gave up on her goals. Samantha was clear in what she wanted (whether it was a serious or casual relationship) and Charlotte, despite a lot that happened, never gave up on her dream. Charlotte, who also knows what she wants, never even cheated on her husband. Miranda literally led Skipper on and ruined his perfect relationship by sending mixed messages.

People hate Carrie because they don't wanna realise that they themselves have some of her traits. She isn't perfect, but she's relatable and a very complex character. And about the Aiden thing: He bullied her because of her smoking, wanted to clear out clothes she loved from her apartment, blackmailed her into quitting smoking, completely disregarded she wasn't a dog or countryside person and tried to force her to fly to Vegas to marry him. So much for Mr. Perfect.

I think the worst thing about her (and the best as a character) is that she trully thinks she is a good person, with flaws but with a good heart but in reality she doesnt even realize she is not. She is overall selfish, narcissistic, vain and empty but she doesnt take care of that, even when she knows has screwed up or hurt someone. And its smart and brave from the writers to portrait a main character like this because many people is like that, is human after all.

She was never my favorite character for all the reasons pointed out in this video. She was selfish, entitled, and a bit childish with the squealing and over-the-top frilly clothing. I especially hated the way she tried to force Big into something he was unwilling to be. Accept a person as he is, or move on. If I keep talking, I will actually move into hated Carrie territory, so I'm stopping now.

I just finished And just like that, and throughout watching it, I realised exactly that! She really was a pain in the ass most of the time. Didn't see it that way before, when watching SATC, but now I honestly feel she's a well written anti-hero. But I admit that this makes her character very much realistic. And good job to Sarah Jessica Parker for portraying her.

The time when Carrie loses her shoes at the dinner. She consistently bothers the mother of three children who is busy taking care of them. She gets offended when she is offered half the price for the shoes since her shoes were too expensive. In the end she guilts her into buying her new one. What a self centred character

To me the moment I hated Carrie the most was when she is cheating on Aiden with Big and he comes to her apartment when Aiden is there, and to go downstairs to see him, she goes to take Pete(Aidens dog) on a walk and SHE LOSES THE POOR DOG because of course shes arguing with Big. I swear I hated her soooooo much.

the scene when she apologized Natasha shows her new low. Jumping into someones table, no proper greetings, talking sht, drinking others water, forcing the other to listen to her sht. Thats the opposite of Natashas decency. Natashas apologies meant that Carries were also insincere and shtty.

I believe deep down Carrie is very insecure and she's aware of that, but she doesn't want to admit it, because she's used to being the center of attention. It also seems she can get that attention from men because she feels as though a man is needed.

Carrie is the result of an overprotected childhood with no barriers, possibly unlimeted money and helicopter parents. Do not be a Carrie, be a decent human being who cares for the people around them. It is not that hard. Just don't be a jerk.

Don't you feel a bit hypocritical to criticise the fact that Carrie wanted to change Big but give a pass to Aiden about the cigarette? Even tho yes she is the worst but is a great example of being a love addict and emotionally dependent.

Carrie is a horrible person and terrible friend. Selfish beyond belief. and not worthy of the friendships she had with any of the other 3 women. I actually can't stand Carrie and loved the few times someone would put her in her place!

Looking back at the show, it obscenely glamorized fashion and ego - I realize it was NYC, but it felt overly shallow and superficial. Complete cringe. (No one cares about how many overpriced shoes Carrie bought)

Only 10 reasons? Carrie was trash as a friend, a constant neurotic and needy crybaby over Big (who honestly wasn't the bad guy) and a complete shtball to Aiden who she didn't deserve.

Carry is actually the most delusional, emotionally unstable and most irresponsible character in the whole show. It's like she never grew out of being a over-dramatic teenager.

I never really liked Carrie. She was selfish, and needy. She tried so hard to make Big into her pet. Samantha was my favorite and basically why I watched the show.
