Rewatching the show i love their relationship and it works really well. Though i have to say imo the only mistake Atla did was not making a ship choice and sticking to it earlier on, i understand maybe why. There was a huge split of fans wanting their ship to happen and i guess it created suspense but i feel like by trying to please both audiences for as long as possible they kinda made both weaker than they could have been. End of season 2 should have been that point to make a choice either way. The first half of season 3 was very focused on Katara and Aang but then right before the end it was weird how hard they decided to make it seem like it wasn't really gonna happen afterall, even though they knew how it would end for sure at that point. Completely separating Aang from the group for almost the entire finale still bums me out a bit too. One thing i would change is either remove the ember island balcony scene or have an on sceen follow up to it. Don't get me wrong how they did still works too by giving her space to make her decision after the war was over but i can understand why for some fans it felt a litte abrupt. If i was shipping zutara i would feel a little tricked at the end for sure. Do you guys agree that despite your preference the constant teasing both fan ships was kinda unnecessary?

I really love the scene at the end of The Serpent's Pass when Aang tells Katara about how he felt when seeing the happiness between that family after Hope's birth; in my opinion it's their most touching moment in the entire series. We also need to consider the symbolism present in that moment when he says It reminded me of how I feel about Appa. and how I feel about you. Think about it - Appa is his closest friend and therefore the one thing from his past that he has the biggest sentimental attachment to, so in that instance he straight up told Katara, someone whom he's only known for about a month by contrast, that he feels just as emotionally attached to her as he does to Appa. To be told by someone you've only known for a pretty short amount of time that they get the same level of happiness out of having you in their life as another person they've known for a longer time really is a formula for the kind of reaction Katara gives when she hears him tell her that.

People complained the video bcuz their zutara shippers. Mind u zuko in the 1st season have no problem going through lengths 2 hurt someone even katatra. So even if it was canon in book 1 it was unhealthy 4rom the start. Also zuko is 16 and katara is 13 so it feels awakard seeing them 2ether bcuz I see her as a 12 yr old kid. It does annoyed me katara friendzone him a lot while getting jealous when he's with other girls when he's obviously crushing her. Still anng is surprisedly patient with katara a lot while doing what he can being friends while being the avatar, it's sweet they becoming friends into something more is an example of what a healthy relationship. Nothing against zutara shippers this is just my option of how I viewed and see the show as canon shippers. Sorry of my rant have 2 speak my mind.

The feels! I can't take the feels! Katara saved Aang, and thus the world. And if Sokka wasn't being a jerk at just the right time, he wouldn't have angered Katara enough to accidentally waterbend so fiercely which broke the ice containing Aang. If all three hadn't met Topher and encouraged and loved her better than her parents ever did, she wouldn't have learned/discovered metal bending. Team Avatar saved the world in so many ways.

When they get together a year later, they're 15 and 13 with no parental supervision. Realistically speaking, that can't end well. Happy to see the desert scene so high, i feel it's a very important moment that's kinda underrated. To me it was when the show solidified how strong their bond was even within the group. Katara was the only one confident Aang wouldn't hurt her and Aang was able to stop despite his rage. Definitely one of my favorite endings to an episode ever, plus the music was amazing too.

The reason Aang and Katara were so great imo is because of how their relationship was built and fleshed out throughout the entire show. That's the reason I personally would never choose the other ship over it. I think zutara could have been a good/interesting relationship choice too by the end if it was more developed and kataang wasn't already so much in focus for so long.

Of course the finale kiss was number one I screamed when I first watched the finale. Avatar will always be the best cartoon. From love, humour and amazing fight scenes. I first started watching it when I was 7 when it first aired and I still watch it when I'm 23

I just have one thing to say about number 8 I think the process of letting go of katara was just to teach him to let go, I don't think it meant to be let go forever. Also means letting go of Appa his earthly teather which would not happen.

My favorite Kataang scene is probably the dessert scene with the sand benders. Brings me to tears every time. Kataras compassion and empathy is just so moving.
