I was always against dating outside a 5 year age gap personally, especially when it came to younger guys because most seemed immature, unsure of themselves and didn't have their lives figured out (which is fine most figure it out eventually but I wasn't interested in being anyone's mother. Then I met a guy 9 years younger than me through work and though I thought he was attractive I wasn't interested at first because he was outside of that age gap limit I set for myself, but we became friends and after a couple of years I had to admit I really liked him. His maturity made him seem older, he was confident and had his life together and he always looked for ways to make me smile and we have so much in common. Eventually I gave in and we started dating and now are engaged and the age gap doesn't bother us at all. He's 27, I'm 36. Met him when he was 23 and I was 32. Although 9 years doesn't seem all that bad when I see some of the other age gaps lol

Back in 2013 my family was visiting Washington DC and staying at the Mandarin Oriental. One morning we were being seated at the hotel restaurant for breakfast, and as we were being led to our table I look up and. there's Alec Baldwin, standing right in front of me, holding a TINY baby.
I quietly said, Woah, like an idiot, and he smiled and nodded at me as a greeting before carefully continuing on his way out the front of the restaurant, handling that baby like it was made of spun glass and the most precious thing in the world.
Right after that Hilaria stopped near us, looking in the direction Alec had gone, a little perplexed. She bemusedly said, Where on Earth is he going with the baby? to the person who was with her before they both followed him out of the restaurant.
It was a surreal experience. lol

I've always dated older men. Always have had older friends as well. I would say that I'm on the extreme side when it comes to maturity. I never ever behaved, acted, or thought like a child. ever. I'm married now, and my husband is 19 years older than I am. We have a daughter who is almost 5, and watching her grow has really made me realize how oddly mature I've always been. She acts and behaves like a child. so do all her friends. I have a hard time understanding how she sees the world because I have always acted/behaved/spoken like an adult. It really hit me recently just how very very strange it is that I never had the mentality of a child, even as a child. My mom tells me I was the strangest child ever because she says I never actually was a child in any sense but the physical.

Age is not a problem, but I do think when you hit 20 years and above it can be a little weird looking from the outside. But we don't know them and their situation.
People are still amazed that there is a 13 year difference between my husband and me. They keep saying: I didn't know he was that old! Even my parents where skeptical when I first told them about him, but when they met him for the first time my dad said: he doesn't seem that old. To me that was him approving. I can behave older than what I am and my husband behaves a little younger than he is. (Funny thing is he is 9 years young than my dad, 6 years younger than my mom and 6 years older than my aunt. We joke about it a lot)

I really don't know what people consider big lol it's overall a very opinionated thing by every person. I would say any age leaning around 10 and something years less is nothing big(you will always be in similar stages in life usually)
If its an age around 20 or definitely anything much much more that's big to me.
At the end I laugh at this stuff like literally a handful of people would consider anything over 4 big. Never understood it.

Paulson and Taylor's age gap is a bit much. When I was around 20 I was attracted to a 40 + man and I was head over hills in love. But nowadays it's off. Considering he was 20-some years when I was born. Looking back at it now, and putting it that way it was bad. I guess it's all about perspective but 30some years older is just too much.
