I don't know better than the producers and writers BUTTTT, I think I found a better explanation for bruno's powers and visions. From his prophecies for the family members. Bruno told Isabella that her the life of her dreams would one day be hers then told her her powers would grow and things happened in REVERSE her powers grew THEN she became honest with herself and embraced her new life which was a better relationship with her sister and being free. Then Dolores, she was told that the man of her dreams would be so out of reach and betrothed to another AFTER isabella's vision, so Dolores vision came first and Isabella's second and the fiance (can't remember his name) was not to be part of Isa's future. Last but hot least, bruno saw a butterfly petch on a plant before he saw mira and is hug. Mirabel and isabella ended up reconciling BEFORE she and her grandmother. So his powers work in reverse i think. and as he later mentioned, he never had a vision of pepa's wedding.

I interpret the gifts as weapons for the family to use to defend the encanto, to avoid another situation like when the soldiers killed Pedro. The candle was probably trying to keep Alma safe and gave her family specific gifts. Pepa can control the weather, imagine you're going to take over a town and suddenly there's a hurricane in your way. Bruno can look into the future and see people with bad intentions coming. Julieta is clearly a medic to help the injured. Luisa is basically Colombian Hulk, I wouldn't want to be in a ring with her. Isabela, we learn, can weaponize her plants, and literally uses them to punch Mariano in the face (more than once. Dolores can hear people making attack plans or coming a mile away. Camilo shapeshifts, so he's the best choice for a spy. Then we have Antonio, who can get intel from the numerous animals in the area. The house is making sure the night Pedro died never happens again.

Okay so most of the family members have some kind of special magical gift, with the exception of the main character. So here is my question, is the magical gift exactly that, a gift? If you consider that all the kids of 1 of the men who married into the family all have gifts while the other one has only some kids with magical gifts, is it possible that the magic gift isn't really a gift and more of a deep magical bloodline? If that's the case could the father of the main character only be partially magical in some sense and that's why only some of his kids have magical abilities, while the other father that married into the family could be from a lineage of fully magical bloodline. Just a question to ask when you spend a bunch of time watching the magical shows and movies.

I have a simple question that bothers me. I can't believe I did not pick up on it the 1st or 10th time watching the movie (yeah I love it. its great)
How did Mirabel make it back from Bruno's room?
There was a cavern or vertical drop that was made even wider when she landed off the make shift swing that she made.
There is no way (I am assuming) she could have jumped that distance or reach the rope since it would likely be settled
in the center of the space like a pendulum.
I would love to know if the director thought about it or just left it hanging.

Bruno's vision about Delores DID come true. Mariano WAS betrothed to another, in his heart. He had no eyes for anyone but Isabella, so he wouldn't see Delores. So it did come true, but like Mirabel's vision, he probably didn't see the rest of the vision. How many of his visions were like that? he only saw the bad, and didn't want to delve further because people ostracized and villainized him for these bad news visions.

By diverting from the paths they were on the future changes. Also, Maribel didnt have a foggy future, she was just responsible for both the breaking and saving of Casita; Bruno just dont take that into account because he assumed the worst too.

And also one more thing that I forgot to say from my last comment is that I think Mariano Pedro is a a demigod because he died in the first scene when abuela was younger at the song that most of us we don't know what the name of it is called but he did die in that scene but then in the rest of the movie he was there so that's why I think he's a demigod

I find it interesting that the house didn't start cracking until the characters did from all the pressure. I would speculate that all the pressure the kids were feeling was also being placed on the house, which could also make more sense of Mirabel opening the door after Casita was rebuilt instead of Abuela.

I took Dolores prophecy exactly as Jared Bush said after the film was over. He wasnt telling her she would never be with him. Bruno was giving her the location of the man of dreams. Hes just out of reach and with someone else (right now. It was my first revelation when replaying the story in my head.

Why wasn't there an actual villain? Bruno turned out to be innocent and misunderstood. rolls eyes Then there were the scumbags who killed Pedro, but that was for all of twenty seconds. There's no real threat. Other than losing their powers, but then they'd just be ordinary people.

Aside from camillo remembering Bruno he also knows exactly what he looks like nowadays. Even though he would only have memories of a younger Bruno, he even has wrinkles when Camillo transforms
