He went to the audition for Dukes of Hazzard dressed in blue jeans and a shirt carrying a six pack. He told them he was 24(I believe) and offered a beer cracking one open himself. It has been awhile since I heard the story but I believe this is what he admitted to in an interview.

If the casting crew has to ask for ones age, while the appearance does not seem unplausible for a role - why bother?
To add another thing: When Barett Oliver was cast as Bastian for the Neverending Story, he looked really young, but had quite a puberty boost until filming started, about 9 months or so, later. But still, it obviously was ok.

I am surprised they font check background & birth certificate. Her skin looks younger so I think it was her age or so what does it matter if she is not? Is just a number & like if they fit the part & character & good at acting who cares! Gee wiz! But she was 14 like how was she by herself no adult brought her to the auditions? I don't get that.

Rebecca de Mornay lied about her age for years. I know because we share the same birthday, but she's 3 years older than me. I kept reading things saying she was the same age as me. Pissed me off! Nope, lady, you are older. She seems to be honest now. She's 62, I'm 59. Our birthdays are in August.

Funny thing is if I ever did want to be an actor I wouldnt need to lie about my age. You can say I look like a 24 year old but Im actually 36 today. And I am only saying that bc I have coworkers that actually say that to me. Unless they were just being nice to me all these years.

Most of these aren't exactly huge lies, I mean in 1992 Sandra Bullock was 28 so if the character was 29 that was not much of a lie.
And the Rebel Wilson example was not even related to a movie but in response to a former classmate so doesn't really fit on this list.

I have never understood these stories of actors lying about their age to get parts, especially in the case of Mila Kunis. No one checks ID's in Hollywood? Us regular folk always have to present identification if we want to get hired. How do stars get away with it?

Something I have never really understand (imagination MUST play a valid part in some lies, therefore they are ingenious) that if it is WEAK to lie, then why is it that they can be powerfully DANGEROUS? - the two don't go together in my way of thinking.
