Never heard about this case. I found it interesting that the final credits at the end of the Netflix series suddenly begin to go by so fast that I had to try about 10 times to freeze frame the video on the part that says, except for certain events and persons everything else is fictional. That kind of diminishes the weight of the clearly legible Based on a true story at the beginning of episode one. Still, looking at this video, it seems that more than I would have guessed had at least some basis in fact. While the actual house is nice, the first difference I noticed between fact and fiction is that the movie house is three times as big and expensive looking. Despite the seemingly requisite in any Netflix series for an overdose of profanity and at least one character whose every other word is F, the series was intriguing enough to get me to watch it to the end. Two of the most overtly doesn't make sense parts were: 1) In a scenario where this family is being terrorized by The Watcher and has neighbors who sit out in lawn chairs to watch them with binoculars, they have no problem with walking around in the house at night with the lights on and the curtains (if they even had any) wide open. Maybe it should have been called The Exhibitionists, and 2) They discover a large tunnel system leading to their house that would likely explain how someone was getting into their house, but they never actually make the effort to follow it to see where it leads -- Ayy! Too much trouble! Anyway, thanks for posting this video to allow us to see the real deal.

I would of first tried to be nice to the neighbors when I first moved in and been thoughtful and understanding when the next door neighbor was harvesting the herbs. When you move into a already developed Neighborhood especially one with elderly neighbors, try to be a little more thoughtful. I think things would of gone alot better. As far as someone watching you, you can take that good or bad. You could of written a letter back and explained to the mail carrier the circumstances and see if the Author of the letter would receive your note. I definitely would not want to give up my home I would want to try and make friends with my neighbors instead of leaving in such a traumatic way.

Lol all this for a few creepy letters they could've just ignored them and kept living their life like normal, I'm sure whoever it was would stop eventually. The letters were clearly linked to the sale of the house, probably a crazy real estate agent or prospective buyer trying to reduce the property value and force them to move, so they or a friend or family member could buy the house. These people did this to themselves by making a big thing out of the letters. These lemmings really screwed themselves out of 400 grand how dumb could you be

What's shocking and horrifying about the watcher is the script and the real reason Hollywood made it( same reason they make all the other satanic garbage) There is a scene in the second episode where the two men talk about babies being sacrificed on an altar for the blood to make adrenochrome to keep adults looking younger. They are out and proud to serve their master. To gain fame, power and wealth has absolutely nothing to do with talent. Watch them all dropping like flies. Satan always comes to collect.

Correct you are. Over the years the colt members responsible put themselves in key positions & locations to gaslight whom ever lived in the house.
Waiting for them to have a baby to sacrifice or make them move out gaining hundreds of thousands of dollars each time there victims sold the property.
Damn right the sheriff private investigator
real-estate agent & neighbors was in on it.

Finished watching this three days ago. I thought it was going to be suspenseful but instead it was more of a comedy. All the acting was good except for Mia Farrow, I thought she was horrid. It's a seven part series and I have to admit that by episode three or four I couldn't wait for it to be over. Honestly I would not recommend it to friends or family. JMHO

Search the background, like most 'haunted houses' (based on true events wink-wink) movies, the bigger picture,
they couldn't afford the house from the start, and started pulling bizarre stunts to get out of the mortgage payments, not to have the word 'FORCLOSED' on the family name, seeing that it is
in a snobbish neighborhood. Period!

Anyone noticed from the Netflix show that the PI before she died of cancer claimed that she hired the the young girl & also made up the mass murder story about Jon but then her daughter later revealed that she lied about all of it just to give the family some closure. Admitting that she was never able to solve it or find out how it happened

Husband and I just binged it last weekend. Overall we enjoyed it - but we thought the last 2 episodes were chaotic (and a bit annoying. I feel the little neighborhood group of busybodies are the most likely culprits. I think much of the creepy stuff in the letters were meant as scare tactics and untrue (the young blood stuff.

I wouldn't leave. I'm stubborn. Kids might not be there. But I would find out how people got in. If I had too tear out every wall. And renovate the whole house. I would also have security put up by a reputable agent. And two to three large guard dogs. Very large fence. But all the money paid. It's a large investment.

I was more concerned that the Netflix show had a 19yr old adult almost skinny dipping with a 15yr old child Yes the dad did say in the first episode she was NOT yet 16. By episode 3 though the dad tells that weird John guy she was 16! No mention of a birthday though. Exactly just How much time has passed then?

to think that the person who wrote those creepy letters is probably watching this video and the Netflix show with a smirk on their face. Some ppl can't stand the ones that appear well to do. I think this was just a jealous person wanting to create havoc in Brannocks seemingly perfect life

There was a similar thing that happened to someone else in another town. It turned out to be a jealous/crazy woman who wanted the house but the people got it instead. Then she harassed and threatened them the whole time. Absolutely sick.

Did anyone think of putting a hidden camera inside the mail box. Someone has seen who is doing this petty, childish mess. Stake out the whole property. the Remember, they found Osama bin Laden. Call the CIA in on the case.

Does anybody understand that this is almost exactly the story of John List? List murdered his mother, wife & 3 children in Westfield on November 1971. All murdered very similar to the storyline.

I had so much confidence that this film was based off the circleville letters, or at least some of the events. Netflix should get on that story next, it would be a hit
