This A-lister sure has a lot of great parts in her filmography. For this list, were looking at our favorite performances by Natalie Portman. Were considering her role specifically, rather than ranking the quality of the films. Our list includes V For Vendetta, Lon: The Professional, Garden State, Star Wars, Annihilation, and more! you really can't include HEAT, even as an honorable mention - her character was just part of Al Pacino's furniture and, with almost every cast member criminally underused or over-the-top, it was a particularly horrible waste of talent, even if they only had LEON to go by. EVERYBODY SAYS I LOVE YOU deserved more of a mention, even if she was functioning as part of a twin-set (and apparently ended up dating her biological brother)
Right to include Padme, even if she didn't have much to do in REVENGE OF THE SITH: Portman did come off as a fourteen year old who could run a planet (possibly Lucas should have said that the 'Quenn' designation had to do with her getting the royal jelly)
Good minor thing about GARDEN STATE was her matter-of-fact acceptance of her parents sponsored 'son' from Africa as her brother - not just that he was black, but that his accent placed him as someone whose first language wasn't English

A good list, except for one thing. I'm not a hater of the SW trilogy as I like them (except for the whiny parts with Anakin, but even I thinks that her role as Jane Foster in the Thor movies was much better than Padme Amidala in SW. So why no even a memorable mention of this on your list?

Brothers is a good film, especially when it was one of the few good films Tobey Maguire has in his resume to be recognized for. Thanks a lot, Natalie, for helping to give Tobey a good film to work in, and whoever directed the film!

There's one more role that flew under the radar. Sara in Cold Mountain. Where Natalie Portman makes the most of her limited screen time, playing a widow who's trying to care for her baby during the civil war.
reply

She was fantastic in the prequels. And fans are deeply split on the merits of the prequels? I think you mean TLJ. The prequels have a whole generation of fans that grew up on them and love them.

Thanks for V for Vendetta, she become my favorite actress, she was so good as Evey Hammond! When she won the Oscar for Black Swan, I was so happy, and I have to admit it: I cried of happyness!
reply

Black Swan was her best performance, I agree! I liked watching her in Annihilation & Vendetta, I always liked Sci Fi. So, Star Wars was pretty cool, too!
reply

I just love Natalie. She tends to act in this reserved way, keeping the focus on her beautiful eyes. There always seems to be this air of class around her.
reply

Half of this list is unnecessary. I'd rather hear ten minutes about her incredible performance in Leon and Black Swan and Garden State
reply

Natalie is amazing! Definitely my favorite actress.
Also, despite some of the dialogue, shes one of my favorite Star Wars characters

Why put Padme on this list if that was her worst performance? You had honorable mentions so why not put one of those on the list?
reply

i love how no strings attached and friends with benefits were the same year with mila kunis and ashton kutcher in separate projects.
reply

I lived for her role as Evey in V for Vendetta but her role as Nina Sayers will always amaze and SCARE THE SHIT out of me
reply

Her performance in, Where the Heart is, should have, at the very least, made it onto the Honorable Mentions list.

Natalie Portman And Johnny Depp Should Make A Movie Together They Are Perfect To Play Siblings But It's Too Late
reply

You missed her contribution in rap music with the most majestic performance ever. Not fair msmojo not fair.
reply

She lost to Emma Tone in SAG though. She did win in Critics Choice Award. Please do further researches

Too bad Mojo is spending more time talking about the topic than showing the actual content in question
