Here are the scenes that scared me as a kid. Donkey transformation in Pinocchio definitely indeed freaked me out. Alan Parish getting sucked into Jumanji traumatized me for like 2 and a half years. And then the ghost of death in Indiana Jones Raiders of the Lost. And for some reason the scene at the end of Home Alone 2 when Harry and Marv are swarmed by pigeons and then Marv screams in that shrill voice, that disturbed me deeply. Not only did I think Daniel Stern's scream sounded super blood curdling but I had a misconception that when the pigeons were eating the seeds on him, the feeling was supposed to be excruciating and it was supposed to be an agonized scream. But come to think of it, Daniel Stern barely felt anything, for he was wearing lots of layers of clothes protecting his skin. And we discover that the reason why Marv screamed hysterically was because he's super fraid of birds and having that many birds on him terrorized him. I avoided watching that seen for over 10 years

I have to agree for Coraline Button Eyes,
The Witches Witches remove wigs, masks, and shoes.
Watership Down had a number of Claustrophobic moments,
Pinocchio I was definately traumatized with Boys turning into donkeys.
Matilda The Chokey for sure.
Monster House The man was scary, the way he tried to fled children away.
Oh yes, The Wizard of Oz The Flying Monkeys.
I wish there were other kids movies I've seen that traumatized me.
I think what immediately came to mind would be, Something Wicked this way comes When Spiders suddenly appear in the boys' room.
The Rescuers when Penny forced to find the diamond in the cave where the water comes in.
Jumanji when Young Alan got sucked into a boardgame.
The Secret of NIMH Brisby entering the Owl's home.
At least those are my best options

I love Ms. Trunchbull! Id be mad if someone stole my homemade chocolate cake too. Ms. Trunchbull just went too far. lol I know its just a movie but it still bothers me that NOT ONE parent believed their kid when they said the principal was abusive.
That Pinocchio scene & the flying monkeys scared me so bad as a kid. Even as an adult, its unsettling.
My own pick is from Mary Poppins. When she sang to the mirror & it sang back, and then the Mary in the mirror watched her walk away. I thought mirrors really did that as a kid & it stuck with me.
CORALINE!

all of these still rent space in my head and should be on this list:
-Neverending Story: Artax in the Swamp of Sadness.
-Something Wicked This Way Comes: The blood going into the sewer drain.
-Return to Oz: The Queen removing her head.
-Gremlins: The one in the microwave.
-Watcher in the Woods: The mirror cracking and the girl being pushed under water with a stick.
- Who Framed Roger Rabbit: The shoe going into the dip. I still fast forward through that part.

I was really young when I first saw watership down. I only ever watched it the one time and I could still remember being absolutely horrified by the violence towards the bunnies. I'm 48 years old and simply cannot believe to this day that anybody thought it was okay for a child to watch that. All these years later and I still refuse to ever watch it again. It was the only thing that ever gave me nightmares when I was little.

You really should have included the climax of Old Yeller- seriously, seeing the beloved titular dog succumb to rabies (something that didn't get to that stage in the novel) baring his teeth and growling before his owner has to shoot him is truly traumatizing (it gave my sister a long lasting fear of dogs in general no matter how friendly and lifelong lyssaphobic obsession)

When it comes to the animated entries, it shows you what happens when the medium is conflated as being exclusively for kids. For example, Pinocchio was made for all audiences given how novel a fully animated film was at the time and Watership Down was merely labelled as suitable for children, not explicitly targeted towards children.

What traumatized me as a kid was the whole Little April Shower sequence in Bambi, especially when it transitions to a nasty storm with that haunting orchestra. To this day, my skin still erupts in unpleasant goosebumps every time I hear it. My PTSD from recent hurricanes definitely doesn't like it.

I first saw Chitty Chitty Bang Bang as a kid on TV. I could not watch the Child Catcher scene without running from our living room in absolute terror. To this day I have no desire to try and muscle through as an adult. I can't think of any scene from any movie that ever scared me like that did.

My biggest one was the one that was number 10. I had to cover my eyes during that because I am still traumatized from that movie. (Please dont judge me) I will not allow Pinocchio to be viewed in my house. Personally that will always be in my top Five of most traumatizing movie scenes.

I've seen Pee Wee's Big Adventure so many times that I knew when the Large Marge scene came up. I would always cover my face or turn away when they showed her face. It was only about 25 years afterwards that I could finally watch that scene

If you class it as a kids movie, then Dana's possession in Ghostbusters would be here IMO, as that still gives me the creeps as a now 35 year old. Those damn terror dogs, nightmare fuel(i class the movie as a horror movie for kids.

It didn't place, but I was quite freaked out by Sid's room in Toy Story. I loved that movie but I utilized most of the time spent on those scenes as an excuse to go to the bathroom or volunteer to get everyone snacks.

I never liked the Chokey in Matilda as a kid and now as an adult, it still gives me the goosebumps knowing it looks like an Iron Maiden. To think that kids are sent into something like that is terrifying.

I dont understand why yall are traumatized over a guy eating a big cake. Theres nothing too harmful about that. Worst case scenario, youre gonna be taking a big dump after. But thats it. Nothing more.

This is a completely invalid list because it does not include the horse death in The Neverending Story or the scariest film ever made (I am including the Exorcist in that assessment) Return to Oz.

Coraline is just a creepy movie. The whole thing was nightmare fuel.
Growing up, the Boo box in Hook always made me cringe. And The Last Unicorn always gave me the creeps too

My bestie hates the Wizard of Oz and I can see why. But if you think that movie is messed up you should see return to Oz. It's even more messed up.

#1 is the correct movie but the wrong scene. The final escape is the most traumatizing. I would never be able to meet Teri Hatcher because of it

You forgot a lot of characters from the wiz. The puppet things in the train station, and the munchkins in Eveline's sweatshop before they transform.

Anytime one of the characters was burned in the acid in Who Framed Roger Rabbit. Also when that guy gets steamrolled. Hated that too.
