Collin Farrell didn't make the list I've never heard him use his Irish accent in a movie until hear recently. I always thought he was American not Irish.
Taron Egerton in his short career has yet to use his Welsh accent. He's been using different British accents for his movies. And here recently with Blackbird and Now Tetris he's putting on a very believable American accents.

Yet another misleading video title. Never would mean the actor/actress has never used their real accent in movies/tv shows period. Toni Collette literally started off using her real accent in several well-known Australian films, including the big hit comedy that got her noticed to international audiences in the first place: Muriel's Wedding.

When I found out that Andrew Garrfield was English I was like, Yeah okay. Whatever. But when I found out Christain Bale was Welsh I was like, WHAT! But he's the American psycho!
And it honestly shocked me when I found out Meryl Streep was American. I don't watch any of her movies, so I didn't know how often she used her American accent

I think non-American actors would find it very hard to get parts in US movies or tv with their own accents. You could probably say the same for most countries but the US dominates the film world so its noticeable. It's pretty rare to hear someone speak with a non-British accent in a t. v show made here.

For better or worse movie actors have to put on whatever type of accent the role calls for which increasingly to tend to be American. Some Americans attempt at a English accent, fairly appalling. Not just thinking here of Dick Van Dykes cockney accent in sound of music

Why do you Americans insist on saying a British accent. There's no such thing! What you call a British accent is in fact an English one. And that is entirely different to a Scottish or Welsh accent. I'm Scottish and this really boils my piss. Stop it!

Mel Gibson used his Australian accent in his Mad Max films and British accent in The Bounty, but pretty sure he has used his American accent since Lethal Weapon. Although born in US, he was raised in Australia

If you're Australian, move to America, audition for American roles that are written by, made for, and directed by, Americans; of course you're not going to speak with an Australian accent while you're working.

It's very lucky for the American movie industry and foreign actors, that American accents are easy to do! English accents can be more difficult, but Australian accents? Nobody can do one but an Australian!

You know who really surprised me? Idris freaking Elba. After seeing him only on The Wire it blew my mind when I heard him speak in his native British accent the first time. Heck, it STILL surprises me.

What about Yvonne Strahavski (Chuck, Handmaid Tale) outside of interviews and panels, I don't think I've ever heard her use her natural, Australian accent. She usually performs using an American accent.

This video should be named: 10 Actors who never use their real accent, it would be so much easier to defend this as just 10 actors and take out the controversy. But hey, it makes for good discussion

No Australian celebrity ever uses their real accents when dealing with the international media. Elle McPherson had what she referred to as her 'international accent' when speaking to the paparazzi.

Australians never use their natural accent except in a film set in Australia. Since most Australian movies rarely break through the outside world, we never hear their genuine accent.

For British actors. I'd add Idris Elba and remember Tracy Ulman too.
For American actors the accent master is Meryl Streep with honorable mention to Texan Renre Zellweger.

5: 10 Andrew Garfield actually used that Southern accent on Doctor Who 9 years earlier, as Frank in the Series 3 episodes, Daleks in Manhattan and Evolution of the Daleks.

Have you ever seen the early 2000s Battlestar Galactica? Watching that, I would never in a million years have guessed that one of the stars, Jamie Bamber was British.

I am amazed that Charlize Theron and Boris Kodjoe were not included, as their native accents are very different from the American ones that we hear them use.

2: 43 I would be impressed if that jersey was a No. 10 because that number was retired along with the player who wore it, the great Chipper Jones.

And Alfred Molina! For YEARS I had no idea he was British. I cannot even recall a roll where he spoke in his normal accent

Melanie Lynskey (Two and a Half Men, Yellowjackets) is from New Zealand and it always sounds so unnatural to hear her speak in her native accent.
