This probably falls under the same category as Ben Platt, but how about nearly the entire cast of Rent? Most of them were in their early-to-mid 20s when the musical first premiered in New York, but they were all well into their mid-to-late 30s by the time they made the movie. Then there's Fredi Walker who was already 33 when she originated the role of Joanne and was well into her 40s when the it came time to do the movie, resulting in the role being recast with Tracie Thoms.

I would have added Chris Colfer from Glee. While he could play a believable 16 year old even at 18, he got a serious puberty glow up during season two. When they attempted a flashback to the pilot at the end of the series, it was laughable the way they tried to age him back down. too late! (The rest of the Glee cast honestly could be under the same category as Riverdale)

I think there is some confusion on what aged out means. Aging out means when someone BECOMES too old to play a character they have been playing. The only actor on this list that fits is Ben Platt. The rest of the actors were either already older than the character when they were cast or were cast at the right age but grew with the character.

Dear Evan Hansen didn't receive a warm welcome at the box office because Broadway audiences are more forgiving of terrible performances and contrived, trite plots than movie audiences. ok none of these guys aged out some of them were too old when they were cast which is typical of a teen centered show but tobey didn't age out his arc was done because the studio refused to give sam r control. Radcliffe completed his movies. cast of Riverdale were too old frim the beginning. and on and on

Michael J. Fox never aged out of his role on Family Ties, which ran for seven seasons. In fact, he looked younger than the age he was supposed to be at the end (graduating from college. Up until he got Parkinsons, MJF was just like Dick Clark or Ralph Macchio. Sort of never aging.

Poor Ben. aging itself is tough enough on its own, but to be criticized for looking too old, when you're still relatively young, and have the film fail because of it. Ouch. thats what happens when your parents finance the film.

They should have casted one of the younger Evans on Broadway, instead of casting Ben. He DID look his age on stage, but the problem with filmmaking is the close up camera shots, making him look every bit his age.

When I went to my first day of high school, my very first thought was film/TV lied. Everyone here looks so young! So unless they're on Disney or Nickelodeon, virtually every film/TV teenager looks too old!

I think Jordan Fisher as Impulse in the Flash deserves a mention. Its obvious he wasnt a teenager and his casting screwed over a teenage actor who had been sidelined and was supposed to appear as Impulse
