What is so great about Andrew Lincolns is that going country is easy, even non Americans can do it because its really not hard for someone with an English accent, Australian accent, South African, etc. but down here in the south not everyone has a thick drawl kinda like in Massachusetts not everyone has a townie voice. But Lincoln adds JUST enough to sound like a person actually from here like a distant relative or neighbor. He definitely sounds Georgian.
Also I know Gary Oldman lost his British accent at one point, and had to go to vocal therapy to gain it back
Also its funny how people here cant do other American accents easy. Like it took me ears to mimic my grandpas Boston accent or a cousins west coast accent. Im from Texas just so you get the difference
Lastly. Lastly notable actors should be-
Russell Crowe
Gerard Butler
Gary Oldman
Henry Cavill
Costas Mandylor
Jamie Bell
Dougray Scott
Oded Fehr
Tom Holland
Jai Courtney
Sam Worthington
Tom Hardy

Good list. I was hoping it was going to be actors who could pull off a range of different American accents, not just foreigners who can do a stock standard American one, cause in reality, that's just standard training for actors in countries like England & Australia, so nice to see it was - except House, I don't think he should have got number 1, since he only did one accent. I would have dropped him to 9 or 10 & brought all the rest up by one place, I mean Jesse Spencer on the same show was an Aussie too (with an American accent, so why mention Hugh Laurie, but not him? Some American shows have the majority of their cast non-American, but all with American accents. Fringe was the first one I remember getting attention for that, I think it was the 100 that had the same too & got discussed cause of the age of the cast, who were primarily not Americans. Actors like Daniel Day Lewis are much more interesting & worthy of mention for their accent varieties imo

The first time i remember seeing Hugh Laurie was in the TV movie Me and my Shadows: Life with Judy Garland where he played Vincente Minnelli. I'm pretty sure I watched that Friends episode when it aired, but that TV movie is at the forefront of my mind when I first remember him. Not even sure when I realized he was British. Only on rewatches of Friends years later did I go Hey! That's Hugh Laurie! (Then, I knew where he was from Lol)

Kelly Reilly who plays Beth Dutton on the TV blockbuster Yellowstone is British and has a flawless American Montana soft country drawl that is amazing! It is always surprising whenever she does interviews about her Beth Dutton character to hear her distinct British accent. And her young costar Finn Little (Carter) is Aussie with a similar American accent

Nothing against her, but should Millie Bobby Brown really be on this list? If I remember correctly she moved to Orlando at the age of 8 so shes been exposed to the American accent for far longer than she has the British accent. Plus at that age its much easier to change and adapt your accent to the environment youre in.

There is a young actor named Woody Norman who was fantastic opposite Joaquin Phoenix in the movie Cmon Cmon. What floored me is that hes from the UK and was doing an American accent flawlessly. Such talent for a kid who looks like hes about 13 years old.

When i saw Idris Elba in This Christmas I didnt even have a clue he was British! And i only found out Christian Bale was British when that horrible cockney accent came out few years ago when he won that Oscar. Damian Lewis looks a lot like Bruce Willis.

Honorable mention: Angela Cartwright on Make Room For Daddy. On the show, she was a loud screechy Brooklyn kid. In real life she spoke with a prim and proper Mid-Atlantic English accent and was very soft spoken.

I think Idris Elba and Mia Goth should be on here as well. Idris fooled millions with his Baltimore accent in the wire and although over the top, Mia Goth in Pearl seems as American as apple pie.

Glad they mentioned Damian Lewis. I remember at the time that even his Band of Brothers costars didn't believe he wasn't American at first. And it was his first time working in The U. S.

Freddy Highmore also is British
His American accent is literally so believable that if you had not seen him in other movies or shows beforehand, you would think he was American

I don't think I heard Hugh Laurie slip once on House. It's interesting hearing his character on Avenue 5 flow between both his natural British accent and an American accent.

Millie Bobby Brown has always blown me away by her acting ability and the fact that she sounds exactly like a Midwestern American teenager. She shouldve been number one honestly.

You should have mentioned Simon Baker, the Australian actor, had several roles in the early 2000, s in the US. The Mentalist and The Gaurdian just in TV alone.

I can't believe Tom Holland didn't make this list. Not only was he a perfect spiderman, but even pulled off a convincing American accent. What a shame.

When your acting is good, no one will expect your ethnicity. They will think you have the same ethnicity of the character, you're playing.

I've been paying attention to Florence Pugh since Little Women. She's my current favorite actress. So happy she's in the list.
