These villain songs didn't have to go THAT hard. For this list, well be looking at both animated and live action movie villains who truly do the most. Our countdown includes Hocus Pocus, Chicago, Little Shop of Horrors, and more! Which of these songs is YOUR guilty pleasure?

Mkay. I haven't seen several of these movies, so I have no opinion on those. However. All of your honorable mentions would have been on my personal top 10. ESPECIALLY Toxic Love. That song--in fact, that MOVIE--has lived rent-free in my head for 30 years, and I ain't even mad about it. But I 100% agree with your #1 choice. Frollo is the most terrifying and evil villain in any movie I've ever seen. And no other song has had me so conflicted. From a story perspective, it is disgusting and creepy and predatory. But from a musical and lyrical perspective, MY GOD, IS IT GOOD! The common, vulgar, weak, licentious crowd? BE STILL, MY ENGLISH-NERD HEART!

I absolutely would have cut 9 and 10. They were nowhere near the others, including the honorable mentions. It kind of felt like they were there just to have something on the list that wasn't musical theater or Disney. Not nearly the level needed. Instead, In the Dark of the Night from Anastasia should have been there, Oogie Boogie Song from Nightmare Before Christmas, and I would have included The Mob Song from Beauty and the Beast. Also, there's a few songs from Dr Horrible that would work, Javert's Stars (although only from the stage versions, not movie, Epiphany from Sweeney Todd, even Prince Ali Reprise from Aladdin or Shiny from Moana.

As soon as I saw this video my first thought was 'If Tim Curry isn't in the top three I'm gonna be pissed. ' because, let's be honest, he could be the top three on his own. And calling Rocky Horror unsubtle is just such a hilarious understatement. I think finding out that Keith David could sing like that makes Friends on the Other Side one of my favorite Disney songs but the top out of this list is probably Hellfire to me. Not only is it an amazingly well done song, the animation for it is just so incredible. Plus a song about a catholic blaming an innocent person for their own sins is exactly the kind of unsubtle commentary that I find hilarious.

You're utterly and completely wrong from top to bottom with the entire premise of this list. Villain songs have to go as hard as hard can go. They have to show one of two things 1) Pure joy in villainy (Be Prepared, Poor Unfortunate Souls) or supreme emotional conflict leading to the justification of villainy (Hellfire). If you can't hit either of those two notes, then your villain is not actually committed and will find himself on a redemption arc.

I love the song Feed Me from The Little Shop Of horrors, Maybe last summer, on like an april or some stuff, Me and my sister went to a play, it was the little shop of horrors lol, and i LOVED it, the actors was amazing! The plant was so cool, the plant even moved! My favorite scene has to be the one where Audrey's boyfriend ( a dentist? ) has the laughing gas, on stage he was DYING OUT LAUGHING.

I agree with Hellfire but I just can't overlook the fact that I NEED A HERO is just an honorable mention. When anyone thinks of Shrek 2 I bet it's the first thing that comes to mind. The fairy godmother went all out in that song, It's like the only one still being used in pop culture today. Heck if not 2nd place, it should actually be tied with Hellfire

Be Prepared, Poor Unfortunate, Friends on the Other Side, Hellfire, In the dark of the night, Savages and The mob song are my favorite Disney songs. And their metal version from Jonathan Young are AMAZING.
In live action, I love the mean theme of Phantom of the Opera. Specially Sierra's version

Frollo absolutely terrified me as a child! I threw away our VHS copy of The Hunchback of Notre Dame when I was like 5 years old because it gave me nightmares! Watching the movie again as an adult I can see why I was so afraid. Hellfire is another level of wickedness! Great list of songs!

Everytime I hear an incredible dramatic villain song I just imagine the in universe people just hearing that and either not caring enough to stop them or treating it like it happens so often they're judging the song performance through the walls.

Beelzeboss is the WEIRDEST rock duel ever. The D comes out with an acoustic guitar that can somehow replicate drumbeats, gets its ass OBJECTIVELY kicked, and then, somehow manages to deflect a bolt of demon magic with said guitar.

The Prince of Egypt, Playing with the Big Boys; amazing how they got all those gods' names to fit that rhythm so well! Also, the Ten Plagues song may not technically be a Villain Song, but it sure sounds like one!

I just want to drop this here, the hungarian version of Scar's Be prepared, Frollo's hellfire and Ursula's Unfortunate souls are all unforgettable. Even if you don't speak the language.

I would love to throw My Lullaby from Lion King 2: Simbas Pride up there. It SLAPS so much as a villain song and I still remember it even if I havent seen that movie in 4 years
reply

Mother Knows Best definitely should've made the list. The passive-aggressiveness in it is so next level. It really shows how manipulative and vile Mother Gothel is.

I really love Jafars song from Aladdin because I think that twisting the protagonists song is really cool and he exposes and makes fun of Aladdin throughout the song
reply

Be Prepared, Friends on the Other Side, Hellfire, How Bad Can I Be are the best, particularly Hellfire.
Edit: Oh yes! Poor Unfortunate Souls is also amazing.

Other friends from the Steven universe movie is also a really charming and depressing song about abandonment and trust, sadly it didn't make the list: (

No love for The Stars from Les Miz? Hmm. Did the Phantom of the Opera have a true villain song? As opposed to Sweeney Todd, who has nothing BUT.
reply

Wait, you chose a song from Little Shop of Horrors, and it WASN'T Mean Green Mother from Outer Space? Not that Feed Me is a bad song or anything.
reply

Let's not forget Jafar. The only villain who not only turned the hero's song against him, Prince Ali, But also made an absolute banger while doing it
reply

The witch from into the woods was not a villain. If anyone from that movie was the villain, I would say it was the princes and royal entourage.

I know youre short for time, but you should really play more the songs so people can enjoy the performances. More songs, less commentary.
reply

I was not ready for AUSTIN POWERS to be on hear
Loads of people dont know it and me and my friend remembered the choreography by heart

reply

friends from the other side and mother knows best are such a banger that I cant help listening to it from time to time
reply

Is it just me or is The Hunchback of Notre Dame just severly underrated in general? Every song in that movie is otherworldly.
reply

There is the rest, and then there is the best. Nothing compares with hellfire. Too bad the gargoyles ruin the film.
reply

Watching through this, I was wondering What, no Hellfire?
And then yeah, makes sense. It's just so perfect.

reply

Hotel Transylvania 3 kraken song. At the moment of that music battle i REALLY began to cheer for the villain
