I have few things that scared me as a kid/teen.
1. (Pinocchio and the Emperor of the Night - 1987)
I remember this one scene where Pinocchio faces the Emperor of the Night. I also remember the 1996 film of Pinocchio with the scene Pinocchio walks out the classroom while his nose was long.
2. (Little Nemo in Slumberland - 1989)
I remember clearly well when Nemo has a nightmare and I remember that moment when Nemo was trying to call for his mum but she stood there in the kitchen washing dishes and another scene with the train keeps chasing after Nemo.
3. (The Land Before Time - 1989)
I didn't like the scene where Littlefoot was calling out for his mother until he found her breathless and I find it disturbing when the screen zooms away with the mother's dying body lying there and their last moment really breaks my heart. I feel sorry for Littlefoot.
4. (Sleeping Beauty - 1959)
There's 2 scenes I didn't in the film. One with Aurora in a trance and following the green light before she pricks her finger. Next with Maleficent turns into a dragon and I remember easily well that the dragon version of Maleficent used to give me nightmares as a kid.
5. (Jack and the Beanstalk - 1974)
I don't like one moment where we see a glimpse of Princess Margaret just stood there and looking at us for a second before pushing the cloud away. I also never like the one scene where Tulip the giant falls to his death.
6. (Shrek - 2001)
I never liked the dragon keep scene. Especially the chase scene as well because I used to get scared and have nightmares of the dragon. She doesn't scare me now but she did used to, only in the first movie in the dragon keep scene.
7. (The BFG - 1989)
I hate to say it or admit it but I remember getting scared of the BFG in his black cloak where we didn't see his face from that moment in the street and he was lurking around before kidnapping Sophie. I also don't like the moment after Bloodbuttler threw BFG and he went closer to the screen which I didn't like as a kid. Same thing where Fleshlumpeater appeared from the ocean, the queen having nightmares and at the end with the glimpse of the queen looks down at Sophie for a second after the BFG ask her to take care of Sophie.
8. (Ratatouille - 2007)
I've got a video of moments that I get scared off as a kid, if anyone interested on watching.
9. (The Transformers - 1986)
You may going to judge me or anything, but please respect as I will explain.
I never like the scene with Optimus Prime's death. Don't get me wrong, I understand if he is anyone's favourite but that won't the change the fact that I'm actually scared of Optimus Prime for real. Like I said, please respect. I don't want to see any arguments about it.
10. (Finding Nemo - 2003)
Okay, you may not going to believe me. But I never like the scene with the divers kidnapping Nemo. I have to admit, the green diver scared me to death as a kid (still do) when he appeared right behind Nemo. Although, the green diver is the dentist.
One more.
11. (Wizard of Oz - )
Okay. I can't exactly remember which version it was (but it was a cartoon. I remember this particular scene that keep popping up in my head with the scene of Dorothy throws water at the witch of the west and the witch then started screaming and melted to her death. I just remember it because my class from one of my old primary schools used to watch together.
So these are the moments that I get scared off as a kid.
Thanks for reading.

While these moments may have scarred and left a negative impact on children, (specifically the donkey scene from Pinocchio, although that never scared me as a kid for some reason, just a bit unsettling) the one movie that did scar me for life was Finding Nemo.
Finding Nemo had lots of moments that made me not want to see the film ever again up until the Bruce scene. I did not like Bruce and even though he was trying to come off as a good shark, him going mental is like having your uncle come over for family reunions and hes so fun to have around then suddenly he becomes violent due to drinking, now I just realized Bruce is addicted but to the scent of blood from fish. I also didnt like the barracuda scene as a kid, because of the way it was executed with the music and everything, its like the beginning of a thriller film, like Jurassic Park and Jaws since both have characters die in the prologue.
That being said, Finding Nemo was that one movie that made me not want to see it again until 12 years old(I was 4 when I first saw it. I like the movie now and the characters have grown to me, but I will never forget how much it scared me.

I'd like to point out a few others, these two had kids leave the theaters in tears at the time of their release, with one having a bit of an impact on the voice actor himself
1. The Death of Optimus Prime from The Transformers The Movie released in 1986, it's even worse as the film also killed off characters that werent selling, including Optimus and Wheeljack, kids left the theaters in tears after Prime died and even Hasbro and Peter Cullen received fan mail about it to the point when Prime almost died in Transformers Prime, Peter Cullen didn't want children viewers to feel the same impact the 80s kids felt (also because of the 86 film, Peter Cullen never knew how popular Optimus was)
2. Sunset Shimmer's Demon Transformation from My Little Pony Equestria Girls from 2013 (and one of the films sequels; Friendship Games, this is mostly for the first one, but apparently the transformation was pretty horrifying, which like the 86 Transformers, caused kids to leave the theater

The first time I ever watched Coraline was at the age of 12 at my grandma's house and I remember liking it actually, I still do. However, I was speechless during the scenes with the other mother. The scene that sent me into freeze mode was where she transformed and locked Coraline in a mirror cell. I'm still surprised to this day how I still continued to watch the movie, especially the scene where the other mother, in her final form, straight up bangs on the secret door, causing it to move closer and closer while Coraline is desperately crawling away with struggle. As a horror fan who's now into goth culture, this certainly shaped my childhood

A great list and yea Pinocchio was nightmare fuel. Lampwicks transformation scene was so disturbing that I shut my eyes when it comes on and I remember I kept on asking my mum whether Ill become a donkey if I was bad. but I want to add another nightmare fuel scene. There was an unofficial sequel called Pinocchio and the Emperor of the Night whereupon he meets Puppetino who uses an organ grinder and transforms him back into a puppet! There I was convinced that every doll I saw was a kid transformed like that from a spell. Took me a loooong time to get past that fear and now I have a beautiful Disney themed dolls and plush toys collection.

While the Pleasure Island sequence was truly terrifying (I still can't watch the part when the boys cry for their mothers, the entire chase scene with Monstro the whale had a bigger impact on me (especially the frame where Monstro is flying straight at the camera, right before he hit the cliff. To this day, I have nightmares about a big ferocious beast coming up from the depths of the sea.

The Toy Story 3 incinerator would like a word. Thats one of the only times I truly believed characters were going to die in a kids movie.
Watching Coraline as a child was a scarring and horrifying experience and I will never be while again after experiencing the devil spawn that is that excuse to traumatize children.

reply

Number 1 definitely deserves it. This scared my dad when he was a kid. He was so scared of it. Cuz he almost believed that could happen.
Even when I watched it as a kid it creeped me out too. I was more scared when he said they never come back as BOys! that scarred me

reply

Oh god you had to start with Fox and the Hound that's one of the few Disney movies that still makes me sob as a grown woman so the trauma is very real but you forgot the land before time when little foots mom dies now thats trauma
reply

Took one look at the button eyes and just immediately deleted the movie from my watch list! I watched the movie for the first when I was 12 or 13 and didn't even finish it. I didn't even know the spider like part happened till now!

Kinda ironic that Simba is sobbing at Mufasa's dead body, but let's not forget that Simba sang a musical number called I Just Can't Wait To Be King several minutes before the fact. Be careful what you wish for!
reply

Yes to like all of these but leaving Todd in the Woods had me crying throughout the whole video. That and the Beldam from Coraline were the two that scarred me most in this video and they werent even in the top 3.

In Pinocchio my one son didn't like the red coachmen's sinister looks.
I think/realize that Never Ending Story is not a Disney flick but my other son didn't like the swamp of sadness with Atrayu sinking

How does a Troll in Central Park get a mention but not Bambi's mother? Also the Other Mother is way scarier than Gus' transformation. Those two moments that I mentioned scared the crap out of me as a kid
reply

Death of Mufasa in The Lion King
The death of Bambi's mom
The donkey transformation of the boys in Pinocchio
Destroyed village scene in Mulan
The Worthless, song in Brave Little Toaster

reply

When I was like 5, I was watching the pleasure island scene.
And right after the donkey transformation, my brother Nick was kinda bad the whole time and thought he was gonna turn into a donkey.

reply

The last one definitely got me. The way the coachman said They never come back. as boys! put shivers up my spine. I didnt Coraline until I was a lot older, but even as adult I find it unsettling.
reply

How are you gonna leave out bing bong from inside out? That straight up made me cry as like a 25 year old. But for real, the fox being dropped off in the woods hurts like hell to watch.
reply

I think the scene that stuck with me as a kid was the one from sleeping beauty with worlds creepiest spinning wheel. That green light was just too much for me.
reply

Little Foots mom's death and Baby mine scene from OG Dumbo should both be on her for trama causing. As far as fear inducing what about The Black Cauldron.
reply

I used to be so upset by Mufasas death, I remember once we walked into McDonalds and Lion King was playing so I made my mom leave because I was scared to see it
reply

I was 3, and remember having to be removed from the cinema when Mufasa died in lion king. I was not having it Came back in during Hakuna matata
reply

Klayton got what he deserved. If there was a PG-13 version of Tarzan, I wouldnt be mad if Tarzan got vengeance after that poacher killed Kurchek
reply

Im surprised that the Autobot Massacre from Transformers the Movie wasnt on this list.
Those moments were traumatic and scarring to 80s kids.

reply

Okay, I thought that I was the only one scarred by the colorful elephants in Dumbo! My siblings told me I was crazy, so I'm glad I'm not alone
reply

For some reason, I never felt uneasy when Moufasa died. I mean, parents die in Disney movies all the time and we didn't see any blood right?
reply

Tod being left in the forest utterly destroyed me and still does anytime I rewatch that movie. Can never get through it without crying.
reply

i hate the clown in brave little toaster. At 31, he still freaks me out. What about the pet ant dying in honey I shrunk the kids?
reply

I know Im in the minority here, but I honestly never found the pink elephants on parade scene all that scary, even at a young age
