I expected #2 to be #1. hard call there. But, you could see Rick ending up doing something like that. with JT, it was totally unexpected, therefore, more shocking.
I have watched since The Kids of Degrassi Street, when it was filmed on Degrassi street with real kids (not actors. The show has never failed. The best part was when the cast of Degrassi Junior High went to schools and interviewed and answered questions from real teens. Those episodes were called Between the Takes. These young actors were totally honest. Amanda (Spike) Stepto spoke so honestly with real teens about her character's pregnancy. And this was JUNIOR high school. BTW, that was her real hair style! DJH had no costume dept or make-up/hair stylists. I feel Canadian TV took more risks back in the day than US TV. I lived in Detroit, so CKLW was often my go-to station.

For me Adam's death was probably one of the most dramatic moments from Degrassi. He was one of my favorite characters from the moment he got on the show. I cried my eyes out when I watched that episode and the aftermath of it. But as an honorable mention I think Holly J getting diagnosed with a kidneydisease and on top of that finding out she was adobted as a baby hit hard too. Degrassi truely is one of the best tv-shows ever made. Considering it's in the hearts of people from more then just one generation

Growing uo, i didnt realize how much i loved this show. I am now rewatching it from season 1 and up at the age of 32. This show wasnt afraid to deal with real issues. And remembering bits and pieces of it, i do remember the first time i watched the episode of J. T. 's death. I do remember the shock and how mad i was. Because you do feel like he is going to live and then it hits you like a ton of bricks. It made me cry so bad. And now i dont even look forward to getting to that part again lol. #NextGen

I dont like the implication that Manny had to sleep with Craig. They went on a date and it was pretty clear they had no chemistry, despite this and the fact that he had a girlfriend Manny willingly slept with him. Craig wasnt much better in sleeping with someone he wasnt really interested and carrying on a secret relationship with Manny before he got her pregnant and it blew everything up.

For me Cams death hit the hardest, even though he wasn't on the show long. He was so dang sweet, just had a lot of problems and was very depressed. He deserved better. That episode will always haunt me. Going through something similar as what maya went through. her depression following it also is very relatable and heart wrenching

1. Emma, Ashley and Clare will always be the worst characters that shouldnt have gotten so much screen time.
2. Craig well the guy that plays Craig BEST actor that has ever been on the show.

Don't forget, the shot of Craig finding Jimmy shot and his reaction is nearly identical to Snake's response to finding Claude. It also explains why Snake loses it on Raditch. He's remembering how it felt to be one of the kids. I will also never un-see the fact that Rick is wearing Claude's glasses.

I agree that no one can get over a death, but I have to see everything on Degrassi is traumatizing because we all go through traumatizing things in life and also people around us. Everything hits hard because we live through it or someone else does and it stays with us forever.

I know that this is mainly for the Next Generation, but I personally was surprised that you didn't include the bus crash from Next Class, anybody who saw that scene was probably picking their jaw off the floor for a few minutes after.

To me Cambell's storyline and death was definitely the most hearbreaking
And I would choose Eli's bipolar disorder portrayel over Craig's. Maybe it was Munro's performance but it felt more real and it really hit hard.

I watched this for the first time last year (very quickly Id say less than 3 months to finish all of it) and Id quickly became my fave show of all time Id always remember seeing the commercials but I was too young to watch

Cams suicide will always get to me and I like how they showed that it had a ripple effect, especially with Dallas. It wasnt just a one episode and done thing, it followed the characters throughout the whole season.

JT's death made me so sad. Felt like I grew up with that main crew only for him to be taken away. I still think about it. Degrassi was very well done with certain topics and had me hooked on it for years.

Even tho we didnt know itd be Jimmy getting shot, Rick was a predictable ticking time bomb, same with Terri getting hurt by him but JT being killed off hit us all like a freight train.
