These Disney songs got deleted, but they would live on. For this list, well be looking at the toe-tapping musical numbers that werent featured in their respective films, but still found a way to grace our ears. Our countdown includes Aladdin, Frozen, The Lion King, and more! Whats YOUR favorite forgotten Disney track?
Date: 2023-11-21

20. Though the idea of Edgar having a partner in crime along with his own song, seems pretty cool, it's great that they got rid of it. Plus, they would very much get forgotten by the many other songs and scenes from the movie.
19. Why Me? sounds pretty intriguing like the idea of Jafar having TWO VILLIANS SONGS seems Mmmh, That sounds. I like it! For me, they should have given Jafar a villain song in the live-action since they'd given Jasmine her long-awaited I Want song, and if Disney is really going to a sequel of the live-action Aladdin, Why ME? better be included.
18. Disney did the right thing by choosing Poor Unfortunate Souls over the deleted one, because Silence is Golden doesn't fit with the movie at all.
17. The Madness of King Scar, the concept itself sounds pretty jawing, I'm kind of great they deleted it.
16. Honestly, much as I love I Won't Say I'm in Love, I Can't Believe My Heart sounds beautiful like it's a little better but they really made the right decision to pick it.
15. I feel like Through the Eyes of Love could've been added to the sequel soundtrack, or in another Disney film since they thought it didn't fit the Mary Poppin theme.
14. Get Right is lyrically much better than Lost in the Wood based on the storyboard picture, and Jonath's singing, but I prefer Lost In the Woods, due to its tune not being a repeat to Love Is an Open Door.
13. It's great they kept the instrumental track of Never Smile At a Crocodile, even if they deleted the song
12. Music of The Soup is a cute song, but I don't know
11. She Never Felt Alone sounds better and honestly, I wish they kept it in the film but as a long short poem.
10. They should have kept I'm Odd.
8. Good that they changed the storyboard to give us So This Is Love, but they should've kept Dancing On the Cloud as a transition during the sequence where Cinderella and Prince Charming dance together.
6. It's understandable why they got rid of the song.
5. Snuff Out the Light sounds very enchantingly sinister
4. Someday is beautiful
3. If I Never Knew You sounds beautiful, like wow but it makes sense why they got pulled.
2. Human Again is pretty good
1. Proud of Your Boy is absolutely beautiful and honestly, I hope they add it in the live-action sequel of Aladdin.

wish elvira had been included alongside greed literally possessing edgar as that would've given him more depth.
love humiliate that boy more just showing how crazy with power to a sadistic degree jafar went but why me is good too.
get this right(which would've shown anna's relationship with kristoff better than how weirdly 2 handled it making the chemistry weak as the 2 having a duet accepting each other would be cute)/life's too short(that would've made elsa as the antagonist work as it should've been that giving their bond drama to stand up against)should've been kept as it better handles the relationships.
remember loving never smile at a crocodile on sing along songs.
kinda would love an animation of kaa singing i'm odd.
could see floating on a cloud for the scrapped part of the ending where cinderella meets the prince before the wedding.
do agree it wouldn't fit mufasa but also think it would've shown the balance the animals had better which people get confused about.
would be nice seeing keep em guessing animated.
if emperor's new groove gets into kingdom hearts would absolutely love snuff out the light being used for yzma controlling heartless to awaken an ancient deity.
really wish aladdin's mother had been kept as i loved proud of your boy/enjoyed her scenes that i would've loved to have seen her interactions with jasmine, genie and seeing her husband in king of thieves(maybe hiding it from al to protect him.

Like Mary Poppins, Bedknobs & Broomsticks also has a deleted song that has survived through audio releases- A Step In The Right Direction.
Mary Poppins also had a few songs that were cut from the film but later reused in other media: Land of Sand (rewritten as Trust In Me in The Jungle Book, The Beautiful Briny (reused in Bedknobs & Broomsticks) (both were going to be part of a song called Compass Sequence before it was replaced with Jolly Holiday, The Right Side (reused in Welcome to Pooh Corner, and West Wind (retitled as Mon Amour Perdu for the movie Big Red.

Never Smile At A Crocodile and Music In Your Soup are my favorite deleted Disney songs and unfortunately Caxanga is a deleted Disney song but because it was not written by the Disney company (they discovered it on their Good Neighbor program trip through Brazil and Latin America, it doesnt count. But then again, the Latin American songs from the 1940s songs seem to unfortunately and unfairly be ignored by Disney, even during the DWTS Disney Nights.

While there are a few songs I think could have been on this list, there is one song in particular that I feel should have been on this list. Another deleted song from Cinderella called, The Dress That My Mother Wore. If you have never heard the song before, I highly recommend looking it up and giving it a listen. Though, you may want to consider having a tissue near by; it might lead to some tears.

Someday is a great deleted and end credits song, so great that when they adapted it to Spanish speaking people and was performed by famous singer Luis Miguel, it became a sensational hit in Latin America. My high school sung that song in my final year of high school, and I still listen to this song every now and then, either in English or the Spanish version

When I saw Beauty and the Beast, it was the updated version with Human Again, so I never even realized it was cut until the live action version came out. Also, while watching that musical number, my brother wondered if The Beast had any actual furniture in his caste if seemingly all of it was his servants under the effects of the spell.

Proud of your Boy is definitely the best one and it should have made it into the movie. On a different note, I really like the song in Frozen the Musical that they replaced the First time in forever reprise with, it provides more context to the characters and it would have been amazing in the movie.

My school this year did Aladdin Junior as their production, one of my closest friends was Jasmine and so during lunch and recess, my Aladdin Junior friends were belting out the lyrics to 'Proud of your boy'. I'm so glad that I could see it be performed in the musical version of the movie at least: )
reply

I kinda wondered why Proud of Your Boy was in the Aladdin musical. I assumed he was just singing to his dead parents or something, I had no idea that song was supposed to be in the movie and his mom was supposed to. exist. Crazy how much these stories can change from what was originally planned

Jon Secada and Shanice sung If I Never Knew You (Pocahontas) during the credits. Same thing with Someday (Hunchback of Notre Dame. All 4 One sung that song I loved both those versions even if they didn't make it into the original run of the movie. I still listeb to both songs.
reply

If I Never Knew You shouldve been number 1 and left in the movie. Like people hate the characters together, but it shows their relationship with depth. Plus it is beautiful. Ive cried several times to the song, and its probably in my top 10 favorite Disney songs.
reply

Actually, Proud Of Your Boy (and Aladdin's mother) was going to be cut almost immediately. But, knowing how important it was for Ashman, and the crew aware of his coming death. They simply waited for after his passing to delete the song and the character.
reply

Its criminal that If I Never Knew You was cut from Pocahontas. It adds a much needed intimacy layer to their relationship, and shows that they both felt the same way about each other. It surprised me how much it sounded like For Good from Wicked!
reply

Honestly Get This Right sounds so fun, though I understand why they wanted to remove it.
Also, theres We Know Better, which shows more of Anna and Elsa as kids and more of their bond as kids.
Also, Eartha Kits Singing Voice is amazing.

reply

There's an amazing fan animation of The Madness of King Scar that looks like it could be ripped straight from the movie because it captures the style so well. I'd recommend looking it up. It's by Eduardo Quintana if anyone wants to find it.
reply

Could've sworn i herad human again on the VHS version of beauty and the beast either way beautiful song sucks proud of your boy didn't make the Aladdin cut he was supposed to have a mom at one point that would've been interesting to see
reply

What about the song, Gonna Get My Wish Tonight from The Little Mermaid 2 Return to the Sea? Morgana was a great singer. Also, Silence is Golden was redone as a song for the eels in the Broadway version of The Little Mermaid.
reply

My favorite one was called Call Me a Princess which was a song meant for princess Jasmine, I couldnt remember whether she was acting or actually being bratty in order to scare princes that she is forced to married
reply

I wish Keep Em Guessing wasnt cut. It would have been sensational to hear Eddie Murphy singing, as Mushu. Youll know Eddie can sing comically and professionally, when you hear him singing, as Donkey, in the Shrek films.
reply

Someday is such a painful and beautiful song, it genuinely makes me cry every time, and Ciara Renee (Esmeralda in the official cast recording for the stage show) has an absolutely stunning voice!
reply

For Anna and Elsa's reunion, my favorite song is I Can't Lose You from the Broadway version. I'd love more than anything to hear Kristen Bell and Idina Menzel record a cover of I Can't Lose You.
reply

For the record, there WAS a recording of 'Never Smile at a Crocodile' performed by Hans Conreid (Captain Hook. It was on a Disney audio cassette collection I had when I was really little.
reply

Gosh, I sure wished Music In Your Soup had made the final cut! DX
And She Never Felt Alone with Duchess' Original VA? Oh! So beautiful! iwi
Silence is Golden isn't too bad, either! :3

reply

I swear to gosh as a child, A song in your soup was in my version of the film, or maybe it was included because I remember it well, and it was one of my favourites from the film
reply

I absolutely have to bring up When Love is Gone from Muppets Christmas Carol! A beautiful song which explains a significant plot point, and should have never been cut in most versions
reply

The VHS of Beauty and the Beast I grew up with had human again in it. I never knew it was deleted from the movie until I watched a different version at a friends house.
reply

I actually grew up with the dvd of beauty and the beast with human again as part of the movie so when we found out it wasn't part of normal films we were freaked out lol
reply

#3 (If I Never Knew You): Yeah, just forget to mention the song does play in the end credits and appears on the film's soundtrack, performed by Jon Secada and Shanice.
reply

I was in a play of Aladdin in high school and I played Jafar. Why Me? was one of the songs in our show and I thought it was so cool that I got to sing an extra song
