So I've never really been a fan of the song movies I know and a travesty anyways my brother rented spiral and I watched a movie about halfway through and then I went and did something else in the house I forget what for a short. I came back. Ask what happened and he told me that the main characters partner was killed and I asked a simple question. Did they find the body? My brother said no, I said there's the killer. My brother Scott and said he's dead I said you said there was nobody. He said yes but the tattoo of the partner was the only piace found. He said yes. I said with a massive migraine roll my eyes and I said okay so allow me to show you how I came to this conclusion. The killer is the partner because who's going to suspect him if he's already dead and makes no sense in after he's done with his murder spree he can just disappear because he will be dead to tye world. And he can just take a small piece of flesh tattoo the exact pattern on that piece of flesh. And boom. My brother said no way that's completely rate lazy riding and I said exactly it's lazy writing but he's the killer. Well anyways I do want to argue with him as they get back to move in when I'm proven right come find me I'll be in the kitchen. Or toilet taking a dump I I don't know yet. And sure enough when they revealed the killer he said motherfuker you were right. I'm like it's not elementary my dear brother. Anyways.

A lot of horror fans were really into Goodnight Mommy (the original at least, I think the American remake bombed, and very early into it I said, Oh. I get it. The one kid is dead. Granted, it wasn't an American film, so IDK how many Austrians were familiar with The Sixth Sense, but you just can't pull off he was the dead the whole time anymore. The Others was able to do it, and that came out around the same time as TSS, but they were really creative because you were basically in the ghost realm. In Goodnight Mommy, no one ever interacts with the other twin (aside from his brother. The mother only talks to one of them and only feeds one of them. Come on! I think we were supposed to believe that she was angry with the one child, but we all remember the anniversary dinner scene in TSS. They already used the silent treatment trick, you can't do it again.
If you're going to make a film where there's a character that only interacts with one person, we know they're either dead or the character has DID or schizophrenia. I don't think I've ever seen DID properly depicted in a film (although I love what Primal Fear did with the topic, but as far as the other two scenarios, we have The Sixth Sense and A Beautiful Mind. Two brilliant, Oscar-nominated/winning films that surprised everyone. It's been done, check it off the list, you're not going to fool anyone if you try to use it again.

With the plot twists for Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull Terminator: Dark Fate and The Dark Knight Rises, I didn't see those coming when I first saw those movies. When I first saw Star Trek Into Darkness I figured John Harrison was Khan when the torpedo was revealed to have a person inside of it since I saw that part of the episode of Khan's debut in Star Trek: The Original Series. One plot twist I saw coming that was not on the list was Ego's true colors in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2. I figured Ego was a god and a villain from 2 clues in the first Guardians of the Galaxy movie. The clue for Ego being a god came when the Guardians gave the real orb to Nova Corps, and Nova Prime revealed to Star-Lord that he was only half human. She told him this about his father: Your father, well, he's something very ancient we've never seen here before. That made me think Star-Lord's father was a god, since gods are very ancient. The clue about Ego being a villain came before the clue that he was a god in the first movie. For that clue, after Star-Lord destroyed Ronan and gave Yondu the fake orb, when the ravagers were taking off, Kraglin said: Yeah, Quill turned out okay. It's probably good we didn't deliver him to his dad like we was hired to do. Yondu said: Yeah, that guy was a jackass! That made me think Star-Lord's father was a villain.

I love that the explanation for The Dark Knight Rises is Miranda Tate wasn't on the comics is the supoosed tip-off that she is the villain as if that would apply in a version of the movies known for going its own way AND as if that resonated with anyone who enjoys Batman movies without reading the comics. As far as the use of Joey King as her younger self. Tilda Swinton in Constantine and Dr. Strange. Comic book movies do that, you know. I recognised her as the little girl from Mean by Taylor Swift but it didn't actually occur to me that she wasn't playing a young Bane.

how did you miss the biggest: THE PRESTIGE? There were two people posing as Angier, so there can be two people posing as Borden. Christopher Priest's novel took the trouble to apparently rule out that Borden had a twin.
In many cases, reviewers will give away the twist before most of the audience can see the movie, and occasionally the pre-publicity does it - as was the case with Indy's son and Khan. In the latter case, though, people will not believe that this pasty English type is Khan.

Lamest twist was Spider-Man Far From Home that Mysterio was the villain. It's only good for people who literally have zero knowledge of the comic books, and didnt read a word about the character on the internet.
I'll also reinterate what someone else said, that the Spectre twist with Blofeld was also obvious. What bothers me most about Khan and Blofeld is that the twist is really only for the audience, the different name has no greater meaning to the characters in the film.

I realized pretty quickly that the Bruce Willis character was dead in The 6th Sense, not because I'm that brilliant, but because I had watched an episode of 'Are you afraid of the dark' a month earlier where that was the plot twist. The stories & characters were different but the plot twist was the same. I still loved The 6th Sense. The story was well told & the actors were excellent (especially H. J. Osment)

I'll never understand how people didn't realize Bruce Willis' character was dead and a ghost. I figured it out as soon as the film started. I remember saying to my friend: Wait, didn't he just die? and she replying. Well obviously he didn't! only for me to look at her at the end of the movie and go: See! I told you! She smacked me with a pillow in response. XD XD XD XD

I've never heard of Secret Window or Hide and Seek.
I didn't see the Dark Knight rises one coming. I don't recall reading any speculation about it online so maybe that's why. Why wouldn't there be original characters in such films anyway?
And whilst the Into Darkness one was totally obvious, I still absolutely loved it when it was revealed.

I feel like such an idiot because I genuinely didn't see the twist in Last Christmas coming. I have Asperger's syndrome, so I have a tendency to take most things literally/sincerely. When the twist came - that the filmmakers chose to adapt the Wham song LITERALLY - I was tempted to scream, ARE YOU FREAKING KIDDING ME!

This video claims that young ones can catch onto Scrappy Doo being the villain immediately.
I was 8 almost 9 when I saw Scooby-Doo in theaters and I totally didnt see it coming.
I was pretty shocked.
So yeah not every young one can catch it, Im just saying.

I must be bad at movie watching because a few of these movies I saw and didn't think about the twist coming from a mile away except for Star Trek I didn't see that movie but it seems pretty obvious anyway given that there is no Star Trek without Captain Kirk and Khan

I got really bored while watching Ender's Game and stopped paying attention near the end. When the twist came that he destroyed the planet and it wasn't part of a test, I literally thought that's what was going on and assumed it was real from the get-go.

Just to play devil's advocate for Spiral, while the twist with Shank being the copycat killer is predictable, I think it's arguably a more surprising twist that Zeke actually agreed to help him instead of immediately turning him down.

As someone thats never saw the saw films and went into spiral, just watching it because I was intrigued of how Chris Rock and Samuel LJackson would work in a horror movie.
I actually really enjoyed and hopes theres a sequel in the future

The behind the scenes drama surrounding Don't Worry Darling was easily the most interesting thing surrounding it. The premise was promising, but the execution was lacklustre, with Black Mirror and WandaVision doing a better job of the twist.

Honorable Mention:
Chester V is a Villain - Cloudy With A Chance Of Meatballs 2
-They even reveal his villainous intents multiple times before the betrayal, including EARLY IN THE MOVIE! Effectively giving away the twist too early.

Poor Henry Goulding had to try to deliberately mislead viewers who saw the twist of Tom being a ghost from the very first trailer. It was painstakingly obvious, given how Tom only wore one outfit, and was only seen interacting with Kate.

For a really obvious twist there was the movie Smoking Aces' In that the fact that the main gangster was in fact the FBI agent that everyone thought was dead. It was so clear that had it NOT been the case it would have been a twist

Come at me: I personally find the 6th Sense overrated. A well made movie by all means but, but 10 mins in I was thinking BW isnt walking outta this opening scene and well I turned out to be right and left feeling strangely cheated.

I would pick the whole Christoph Waltz being Blofeld thing. While I still liked him in the role, I always thought it would have been cooler if it was Andrew Scott who was also in the movie, was actually Blofeld!

Spiral had to be some of the worst acting Ive ever seen. Chris Rock should not play anything other than comedy. His face expressions were so off half the time I thought he was constipated!

The plot twist in Saw X was predictable. Jigsaw always has a backup plan when things go wrong, so I wasnt surprised when the tables were turned on the doctor and her lover.
