Putting a name to a face has never been harder. For this list, we’ll be looking at famous character actors who have appeared in dozens of movies but whose names you might not know. Our countdown includes Luis Guzmán, Judy Greer, John Michael Higgins, and more! Did you know any of their names

I kinda know Gary Cole. His kid went to school with my kids. I think he’s a good actor but (I hate to say this) in real life he’s kind of a dick. I once told him I liked him in a movie, Fatal Vision, and he basically ignored me. Like he was too good to deal with the common folk. Oh well, sometimes I learn the ugly side of some actors. Where my kids went to school there were a bunch of actors and wanna be actors. That’s how it is in LA sometimes

You failed to include Melanie Lynskey in this list. She should've been placed either at number 3 spot or in the 'honourable mentions' segment. Furthermore, I'm still waiting to see a top 10 rundown of her greatest performances. 2024 marks the 30th anniversary of her professional debut. That milestone should warrant a list solely centred on her accomplishments as an actress.

How the hell is Richard Jenkins not on this list! He himself has admitted a lot of people will notice him on the street, but not know his name. He bounces back and forth effortlessly between comedies and dramas as well as period films and contemporary films. Among his accolades, he's won an Emmy and received 2 Oscar nominations.

Who doesn't know Judy Greer by name She is great! Comedian or dramatic actor it doesn't matter. She can pull it off, fantastically.
Also Gary Cole. He's been around for years and in everything. He's been the leading man in many things. Although he's not as good as Gibbs, so I stopped watching NCIS.

Judy Greer is also the voice of Luna Moon on the PBS Kids show Lets Go Luna.
One of my daughter's favorite s.
I love John Michael Higgins.
And the late great Conchatt Ferrall could been on this list. Mystic Pizza and as awesome Berta on Two and a Half Men

Its nice that you do this. There are SO many actors who's faces are as familiar as the major stars. but whose names we never really get to know. However I think most of us know who Gary Cole is. Ever since American Gothic with Lucas Black.

Thank you! I'm not an American but I am always watching American made movies and t. v sitcoms or any media and I see an actor and think what is that actor/actress' name
So far, I know who Nathan Lane is by face and now, by name

Gary Cole has a lead role in NCIS.
To a point I think it’s kinda good to be recognized my face but not name. You get consistent work, you’re technically famous but you don’t have to worry as much about the price of fame.

It’s hard to choose as there are so many, but if I had to choose, it would be Jacqueline Mazzarella and Travis Flory. They were both on Everybody Hates Chris, but they both never had leading roles after the series ended.

Everyone should know Judy Greer's name I do and why is she always the best friend she's definitely pretty enough to be the lead in a rom-com like this comment if you agree with me

3: 45 You left out Gary Cole's eerily good performances as Mike Brady in The Brady Bunch Movie and A Very Brady Sequel. The man is a chameleon and has a gift for voice work.

Geoff Pierson Star Of Many Projects Such as Grace Under Fire (1993-1998, Unhappily Ever After (1995-1999, Spartan (2004, and Watchmen Chapter 1 (2024) That '80s Show (2002)

When you got to number 2 and hadn't mentioned Stephen Root, I started to panic. He is amazing. If I see his name on a cast list, I am watching it. He is number 1 for sure!

Thank you for the update, MsMojo! 0: 40 He's been around since the 1970s I didn't know that. I thought he started in the 90s.
