Fun Home is not only horrifically robbed by not even making the list, but it’s also my favorite musical haha. The way Jeanine Tesori and Lisa Kron too Alison Bechdel’s Existential Magnum Opus about her relationship with her father, his death, and the concepts of self-realization, trauma, suffering, and climbing out of the dark into not only one of the most inventive scores of the modern Broadway stage, but a book that trusts the audience to explore this woven tapestry of complex yet ordinary people.
It was a show that modern audiences are privileged to see, and one that has saved the lives of so many as it helped them come to terms with who they are and understand the importance of living life as yourself.

WHAT ABOUT CATS!
The longest running Broadway musical!
T. S. Elliot made every one of those poems to make fun of his friends. Andrew Lloyd Webber made sure to get permission from T. S. Eliot's widow who turned down Walt DISNEY because she didn't want them to be Cute, Little Kitty Cats.
Even when he made the movie he made sure the core of CATS was still there.

I thought for SURE Les Miserables would be number one! But the top was a good choice. And speaking as an Oz fan, I was pleasantly surprised to have not one, but two representations on this list. (But if I ever get a chance to do my own list, it will be Top Ten Things MsMojo Gets Wrong About The Wizard of Oz)

The Wiz is my favorite adaptation of the story The Wizard of Oz. I never saw the theater version, but I loved the movie. Years later, I read the novel Wicked and loved it. The author really made the Wicked Witch a character you felt for and even may have identified with.

I was honestly expecting The Outsiders to be in this video, considering it is a very popular book/movie and it won Best Musical at the Tony Awards this year. But other than that, I do agree with your top picks like Hamilton, Matilda, and Les Mis.

Not a mention of Rodgers & Hammerstein They started with adapting Michner's Tales of the South Pacific into South Pacific; another book An English Governess at the Siamese Court became The King and I and a book by Maria von Trapp became Sound of Music

weird, if a musical/movie/show is shown at the beginning of a msMojo video, it usually features in the top 10s. But I didn't see Fun home in the countdown even though it was featured at the beginning

I hope someday a book I write gets made into a Broadway musical worthy of being listed here. Well, I'll work hard to make it happen.
Also, how is Sweeney Todd not on the honorable mentions list

Gypsy and The Secret Garden, heck even Evita, which is loosely based on the novel The Woman with a Whip should have knocked some of these shows off the list. Cough, cough, Hamilton, cough.

Carrie was the first thing that came to mind. I'm curious about how they were able to adapt Stephen King’s well-known book into a Broadway musical.

I tried to read all of Les Miserables once, but ended up skimming through it, and comparing scenes to the musical. Proof that I'm a true theatre kid.
