I usually agree with most of your choices, but this one rang kind of empty for me. While I agreed with several of the groups, the songs picked hardly seemed the best (except of course Bohemian Rhapsody. I think a better topic might be the best harmonizing groups. It was nice to see the 5th Dimension, Mamas and Papas, CSN (Y was not included, Carpenters (although their harmonies were layered in the studio. The formerly known as Dixie Chicks were surprisingly omitted, as well as a number of black groups. So yeah, overall this was a little underwhelmingalthough I will say that the narratorwhose name I don’t knowis my favorite on MsMojo.

I was going to compliment you for including some unexpected songs on this countdown, but then on your entry at No. 22, the lovely harmonies of Peter, Paul and Mary are lauded for what you refer to as their song, 'Early Morning Rain. ' You later credit Paul Williams for writing Rainy Days and Mondays and Pete Seeger for Turn Turn Turn, but not Gordon Lightfoot for composing Early Morning Rain WTH

This is a pretty white list tbh. Where is Motown The Spinners, The Supremes, The Temptations, Smokey Robinson and the Miracles, Gladys Knight and the Pipsall deserved a spot. Boyz II Men should have been much higher. I was even disappointed with the Bee Gees placement - 50 years of music from one of the best harmonizing groups of all time and they don’t even make the top 10 Come on.

Love the content and selection but am I the only one who noticed Sam Cooke, Journey, Celine Deon, Whitney Houston, The Flamingos, Otis, Peter Gabriel, Phil Collins, MJ (and that's just to inadequately name a few) were missing And when I think of The Righteous Brothers, Unchained melodies, in my humble opinion, deserved the #1 spot on this particular list.

I can't believe that the version of Crying sung by KD Lang and Roy Orbison (also the composer) didn't make it on this list let alone should have been in the # 1 spot. The vocal range of these Two talented people is astounding.
I get a chill up my spine every time I hear this one.

We lost two of our friends during our high school senior year, and we wanted to use Hard To Say Goodbye to Yesterday as homage to them. But the school overruled us and used a traditional dopey song instead. Anyway, that song always makes me think of them.

I’m sorry but Wilson Phillips totally knocked it out of the park. then Boyz 2 Men comes with 100% acapella that sends chills! Wanya and Nate bringing it hard with Shawn on falsetto and Mike as bass. That should’ve been #1-#3 at least

There are many great individual performances here, but IMHO no band that claim the top spot in the harmonizing category like the Beach Boys. Caroline No, Don’t Worry Baby, You Still Believe in Me, and so many more.

well i dont have a major issue with the 30 songs this but the order HOWEVER is very very very out of whack. at least California Dreamin is in the top 5 as it should be but we need massive re-shuffling here.

Top 30 songs with harmonies that give us chills and you completely ignore all the amazing a cappella groups out there today.
Pentatonix, Home Free and VoicePlay just to mention the 3 most well known.

You guys haven't heard Shai's If I Ever Fall in Love (Acapella Version. I guarantee that you'll get chills by the straight raw talent harmonies in this old school banger. Definitely an Honorable Mention.

Don't agree with the order, but so many of these are favourites from my life. I love warbling away in the car to songs with great harmonies because I can jump between them to suit my voice!

One of my favorite songs with enchanting harmonies will always be Dreams by the Cranberries. I always feel like I'm being haunted by Dolores, who is in turn haunted by herself with that song.

Radiohead ran into difficulties when it was ruled that the She’s running out the door section of Creep was too similar to the Peace came upon me pre-chorus of The Air That I Breathe.
reply

Ian and Sylvia’s version of Early Morning Rain is better.
And I would add an additional harmony to More Than Words every time. But then again, I was in an acapella group at the time

Great choices. My goosepumps goes to: All Saints: Black Coffee, Bee Gees: Emotion, Seals and Crofts: Summer breeze, Supertramp: My kind of Lady and Radioactive by Pentatonix.

All of these songs were recorded before pitch correction/autotune were invented. That says a lot. Autotune and pitch correction are two of the things ruining music today.

Today by Jefferson Airplane. There is an ethereal quality to the harmony of Marty Balin and Grace Slick in one of the best ballads ever. Pure longing.
reply

Correction: just about ALL of Boyz II Men's songs have chilling vocal harmonies. It was kind of their Thing. How they're _not_ in the top ten is beyond me.
