Formula for Hate does tie in with Captain Planet's lore. Hatred is a power of pollution, as shown by how one of Captain Pollution's elements being hate, the ring bearer appropriately being Dr Blight. Hatred can harm Captain Planet as much as smog or toxins, as seen in A Good Bomb Is Hard to Find, when Captain Planet is weakened by the hatred emanating from the dictator who looks like a certain Austrian painter.

I'm not surprised that the Jimmy episode of Static Shock was on this list. Even today, that episode is still a prime example of why serious issues like bullying should not be ignored and why kids who have been bullied should be acknowledged and need help.
Otherwise, incidents like school shootings are bound to happen.

Full House tackled a multitude of issues, the most notable one being of child abuse in Silence is not Golden, when Stephanie learns that her classmate, Charles, is being beaten by his dad. When she tells Jesse, he immediately sees the gravity of the situation, and calls the authorities.

I remember my great grandmother passing when I was a kid. Even though it is hard and scary, death should be explained to kids but in a calm and easy way like my parents did. That way they won’t wonder why someone they cared about just disappeared and never came back.

I've watched all of these with my kids or grandkids. It's great to see that children's shows can take on serious topics in a way for children to absorb.
Also, Mr. Rogers often took on serious topics. There could be a full episode of what he did to help kids.

Chuckies mom is the only thing Angelica doesn't make fun of. I read a comic where she actually waited with Chuckie because he thought step on a crack, bring your mother back. Instead of correct him, she waited and talked with him. Ugh, my heart still

on the Sesame Street episode Farewell Mr Hooper Fred Rodgers of Mister Rodgers Neighborhood was asked to help write the script for the episode. He took it as a great honor
On the Zoom show, it also was on from 1972-1978

Although most kids’ shows are lighthearted and fun, they were never afraid of dealing with serious issues, especially knowing it’s relevance today. It’s proof that even animation isn’t too shy to venture into that territory.

The Sesame Street episode dealing with the death of Mr. Hooper is the one I most remember- all the moreso as the show centered on younger kids. Its a good thing it was addressed.

I know it's a new show, but Carl the Collector deserves a mention. Any episode will, but it focues on autism, whuch deserves the attention spotlight just as much as LGBTQ material imo.

The episode about Chuckie's mother made me cry nonstop as a child. It was a touching way to illustrate that our deceased loved ones are always with us in spirit, if not in the flesh.

It wasn't only big bird that did it but as you heard in the one talking to him. with their voices breaking. and real tears in their eyes. that is what speaks so deep to me.

I remember seeing the Charlie Brown special in the 1st grade as a way for our teachers to explain one girl's cancer but I was TERRIFIED every time I had more than one bruise.

It is a sad, scary, yet important messages to all viewers. All the shows we know and love will always be the best back in the 90's. Especially with The Sesame Street.

Half are reaching and are not kid shows. Plus some kids handle racism as not black vs white or only black people experience it better than other show.
reply

Thank you for adding Static Shock. That show is criminally underrated. It dealt with school shootings, racism, gang violence, bullying, homelessness etc.

that's amazing how they dwelt with anorexia but Hilary Duff went through it and I'm surprised it didn't kill her she looked so bad
