When two Disney characters come together, magic happens and when they sing its even better! For this list were looking at memorable duets in Disney movies, regardless of whether or not theyre love duets! Were talking about Love is an Open Door, in Frozen, Once Upon a Time from Sleeping Beauty, Can You Feel the Love Tonight from the Lion King, and So This is Love from Cinderella

If I Never Knew You is probably my favorite because its the only one that isnt about falling in love, nor is it upbeat and cheerful, but they do not regret falling in love with each other, and their love is eternal even in death. I honestly cant believe it was cut in the theatrical release, first time I watched Pocahontas it had this beautiful song, but when I rewatched it from a different source it wasnt there, and I was sad and shocked that I had to look it up. What makes this song even sadder is its actually played during their first encounter as a subtle hint they unfortunately cannot be together in the end. They love each other so much they let each other go, knowing full well they would probably NEVER see each other EVER again. I have yet to see another Disney couple do that, I dont count Beast letting Belle go to take care of her father because she comes back a few hours later and even after Beast dies the curse being lifted revived him. The only closest is Meg ready to let go of Hercules despite having been heartbroken before, but again Hercules gave up being a freaking god to be with her instead. Second is definitely I See the Light, as the lanterns represent hope but the light represents their new found dreams, but Rapunzel is Flynns light with her sunny personality, and Flynn is hers with his morally grey heart now on fire for her, burning bright. Can You Feel is probably 3, its one of the best because I always crack up at Timon and Pumbas lines, but it also shows Simba and Nala reuniting and seeing each other much more as best friends.
Im going to play If I Never Knew You with the original version at my wedding, its honestly the most intimate as Smith tells Pocahontas she helped him become a better person, and honestly hes the only one who actually thanked his princess for something aside Kristoff. Honestly I wouldnt have minded if it was just a prince song instead, seeing Pocahontass verse is shorter and then echoing what he told her. I mean his 3rd verse is so beautiful Theres no moment I regret, since the moment we first met, and our time has been well spent and then even after shes forced to leave, he sadly whispers And Im so grateful to you, and Id spent my whole life through, never knowing why, empty as the sky, if I never knew you This is why John Smith is one of my favorite princes, he literally started out as someone who was ready to kill anyone who got in their way to all of a sudden realizing how dark he used to be, he humbled himself so much hes ready to die to protect her despite he was supposed to kill her

Lion King 2: Simbas Pride is soooooo fn disrespected honestly! This is like the first time I see it even mentioned but of course its just an honorable mention sadly. Lion King 2 is easily one of my favorite Disney movies ever!
Edit:
When the life action Disney remake of the lion king came out last year and everyone was talking about it and bringing up the old one. I was shocked that none of my friends had even seen the 2nd one. I was honestly insulted! Sand they ad the nerve to call themselves lion king fans? Oh please if u havent seen the 2nd and 1 1/2 your not really fans.

Great. A movie about pedophilia, along with another one about Stockholm syndrome. Oh, and then a third one about child abuse, that originally contained a toe being chopped off to fit in the slipper, and THE SISTER'S EYES BEING PECKED OUT BY BIRDS. Oh, and Simba and nala wouldve been cousins, and simbas dad would be been a murderer to the male lion cubs. Oh, and one of a girl being kidnapped for her entire life, just barely escaping.

Sorry. but I find Love is an Open Door Is corny AF
The duet Anna and Elsa has while Anna is trying to convince her to come home would have been MUCH Better!

8: 13 you know every time I hear Cinderellas voice from the movie, I get mad at Square Enix for giving her such a high voice in Kingdom Hearts: Birth By Sleep when her voice in the movie is actually pretty deep!

Glad to see If I Never Knew You, I See the Light, and Love Will Find a Way get their due. If Another Top 10 Amazing Disney Duets list is made, Desert Moon from Aladdin should be on it.

Well whole new world is first no doubt but doesn't anyone think that Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious should be much higher. it is one of the best songs ever composed. just me?

For me 1. Whole new World, 2. If I never knew You, 3. I See the light, 4. Once upon a dream. Very romantic and the most beautiful disney songs in duet and generally.
reply

I really wish that We Are One from Lion King 2 was included. It's the only powerful sounding, as well as sweet and wholesome father-daughter duets in any Disney movie.
reply

I know what number one is gonna be before watching this. It will no doubt be: A whole New World
Edit: duh I was right. it was never a question really

reply

I never agree with none of your list, nor watch jojo, but still always fun to watch.
Love is an open door must be way upper than Once upon a dream.

reply

I prefer I see the Light than A Whole New World. This is quite biased because I liked Tangled better than both Alladins (cartoon and live-action)
reply

Still waiting for ELSA's duet with her guy: ): ) already there awesome fan made Jack frost and Elsa duets but still expecting a good disney one.
reply
