these game were made by a great japanese developer called tri ace but square enix bought them out i believe so thats why we have star oceans. I wish square enix would buy out monilith soft so we could get xenoblades on my ps4. This game looks great though. I came to look this up because my friend and I were watching old school rpg on twitch.

I have never played, seen, or heard of Star Ocean until recently so I have several questions. Is this a unique RPG or could it be compared to other ones. Is combat very simple or more strategic? I only skimmed through this video to the fighting parts and thought it looked like Dragon Age. Also is it open world?

So watching this video it looks like this is a fantasy rpg. I thought Star Ocean was more scifi with a ton of technology and space travel between a number of planets. That's what I remember from when I played one of these games when I was younger. I think it was Till the End of Time that I had played before.

Whaaaaaaat? They don't yell their abilities when they use them in battle! That was my favourite thing about Star Ocean. Everyone powering-up and shouting -aaaaaarrrrGGGHHH f--kin' DRAGON RAGE! - and then dropping some hug-ass Dragon Fist on an enemies face.

I'm just gonna come out an say that I thought SO the last hope was gonna be good or better than SO till the end of time an to my surprise it was terrible but this looks very promising an a lot better battle system wise because SO last hope was just bad

bruh your specialties aren't going anywhere. I clicked 3 different times through the the video and each time you're looking at your harvesting skill. It's not going anywhere man it'll still be there when you have enough points to buy it.

did they guy playing toggle the battle AI for the female character to off. during the fight with the giant blob around 40: 00 she is just walking back and forth or blocking. no spells, healing, or aggression of any kind.

jrpg mostly sucks with characters outfit, and dialogue. they concentrate on the drama except ff15 maybe with realistic dialogue and characters. best rpg realistic so far i think is dragon age inq

Oh my. god. I uh. this dialogue could use some work. It should just be in the native language of the writers with text boxes perhaps? The game looks awesome otherwise.

So just for reference, this is over an hour of the game, but the full game is only like 20 hours long to begin with, so. This is a pretty big chunk of the game already!

I won't lie, I didn't watch the whole thing, this one retains the ability switch characters in combat right? I never used Edge after other characters in Last Hope.

Fidel has Fayt's attack animations, and I see they brought back the fight-style of Star Ocean 3 -- no triggers for specials.
