Man, watching this after having played the game and seeing only the most recent trailers, this game certainly seemed far different back then. I mean, Cagney's theme was originally the theme they ended up using for Captain Brineybeard, most of the sounds and animations were different/incomplete, the tutorial theme was an early Junkyard Jive, and Goopy's theme was an early Honeycomb Herald.
. and holy shit, so many slots for items! I guess a lot of stuff got scrapped. I think I might've loved this game even more had I actually seen all these trailers beforehand.
But now I understand why everyone was so hyped.

Game does look amazing but I have to agree that there needs to some way to tell you are making progress against enemies. Shooting them for that long and not knowing how much damage you are inflicting is just plain frustrating and you can't tell how much more damage your stronger weapons are inflicting. That is disappointing.

Is sadly watch new games like this, in my times every game was create to tell a story, not only for -entertainment-. And that is progress? Truly we are in backwards.

I hope this game does well. It's proof gamers don't need developers to reinvent the wheel constantly as long as your execution is on point with a tried and true style of game.

More reaction from the bad guys when you shoot them would be way more satisfying. It looks like the endless finger bullets do nothing at all.

Am i the only one kind of disappointed it's running at 60fps instead of 24-29. 97 fps like these cartoons would have been filmed in?

I kind of wish the game's frame rate matched the animations to make it look entirely like a cartoon, but the gameplay would suffer for it.

I just noticed the health bar is cards, looks like they took inspiration from World of Illusion Starring Mickey Mouse and Donald Duck

Visuals and overall presentation are amazing. BUT the gameplay? Look really boring. Hope they use the delays.

The only issue is that the bosses don't flinch so you really have no idea how much damage you are doing.

The map layout looks like the map layout from Super Mario World. If it's a reference, that's cool! :D
