I know no one will see this because this series is over 5 years old, but the weird guy in the cave staring at the reflections (that griffin thinks is tripping) is a reference to the allegory of the cave by Plato. In the story, people are born and raised in a cave and all they can see are shadows on the wall of the cave. Therefore, their entire concept of reality is wrong and they have no frame of reference to see why.

I think turning off the Exp Share hurt you here and left you under leveled (I was about lv 34-35 going in to Gym 3) but man, yeah, the movesets are hard! Surprise Bulldoze and Rock Throw is just mean.

Y u didn't just use honedge and solo the entire gym leaders team idk, but okay - the only thing that could damage the honedge was machoke's rock tomb, but even then it resists it
