i feel like this extra dimensional experience is more like Contact (1997) than Interstellar, being that when they move away from the interior view of the car, they're still sitting in the same spot. Below the intended ground level, yes, but not moving as far as perceived either. Simultaneously traveling this quantum realm while still remaining somewhat grounded in the more familiar upper planes of BeamNG. drive
The whole event hearkens back to Contact (1997) in how Dr. Ellie Arroway (Jodie Foster) makes contact with some kind of extra dimensional being. But when she goes back to our realm of existence, she has no proof of her encounter.
But maybe the real extra dimensional planes were the friends we made along the way.

I'm pretty sure that the black square is an early stage of the Blob. Back before it could manifest itself in the 3rd dimension, it was merely a flat block that would parasitically latch onto any car host it could find. The blob lived in the nuclear wasteland until the Car Boys showed up with their dune buggy, presenting an ideal host for the blob. Only later would it reveal its true form to the Boys.

Down through the Sea Beneath the Sea
The Pessima did creak;
Time unfurled on either side
Within that sunless deep.
Outside what looming shape emerged?
What dreadful, haunting noise!
As if some ancient god submerged
Swam over our two carboys.

Oh I see now, the ocean beneath the ocean beneath the world is where The Final Pam is in every game, just like we saw her at the end of her journey. The black box is censoring her becuase the game knows no mere mortals could stare upon her and live to tell the tale.

I'm pretty sure this is how Griffin got all his adventure zone ideas. Like at the end of 2001 a space odyssey, and interstellar, he sees his while life before him and it shapes his ideas and personality both now and to come. Griffin is star baby confirmed.

Keeping the camera inside the car for the aquatic journey is, no joke, an all-timer directing choice.
And what's the music at 2: 05? Is it an effed up version of Clair de Lune?

You are driving along and accidentally slip into an extra dimensional ocean. In the distance you witness unfathomable beasts and mysterious silhouettes. Carefully you lock the car doors.

I legitimately hate void/out-of-bounds areas in video games. They make me uncomfortable. But this. This is good. This is funny. Nick and Griffin's adventurous spirit makes me love it.

Anyone know the name of the song that's playing when they're in the dark place? It's similar to the mass effect 3 leaving earth theme and it's driving me nuts

The moment they went underwater, my first thought was -this would be hilarious with the Interstellar music-. I guess I've watched too much McElroy content.

Does the censor scare anyone else? I'm not sure why, but it actually makes me worry. Like something's looking at me that I can't look back at.

I know the audio effects are supposed to make it sound like you-re underwater, but I honestly just felt like I was dissociating the entire time

What do you mean, the driver is censored? That's a perfect depiction of Gor'lax, Destroyer of Worlds. Is that an inside joke I'm not getting?

The fact that while they're descending into the abyss, in the mirror you can see waves crashing on a beach. is just.

Can somebody please compile all the most psychedelic moments from Car Boys, and maybe put some Pink Floyd music over them?

I think this is some sort of 4 dimensional space, and maybe also a glimpse into the space-time fabric of the universe.

I can't believe I didn't hear a -nice- from Griffin when Nick said he has 69 mods, it's very upsetting.
