This MS sales rep is delusional. I appreciate Phantom Dust as much as the next guy. But let's be real here. You are sending this game out to die with barely any PR or any effort made to update the game's graphics or mechanics. If you truly appreciated the original, this wouldn't be a reverse-engineered port of the Xbox OG game with a resolution bump. This just screams 'we don't want to spend a lot of money on this, but hey guise, please buy the game this time! '. Because doing the same thing again but expecting different results is totally rational when it didn't even sell back when it had more or less cutting edge graphics, right?
Is this all Microsoft is doing? Re-selling old Xbox OG games and then pretending as if they did so much on this port? Start putting your money where your mouth is and put some BUDGET behind these productions. Or is it Nadella who is withholding your allowance these days Team Xbox? You have to make the most of what little you're given because to MS putting money behind games is not a 'sound investment'?

To all those haters. have fun hating while those of us who've been playing this game religiously for the past 12 years and a new host of players on xb1 enjoy our asses off.
The gameplay you see here isn't even far enough into the game to showcase how furious and tense it gets once things get ramped up.
People buy lesser quality titles than this from both a gameplay and graphics perspective daily from the hundreds on hundreds of indie titles currently available in the xb1 store. Those same people and more will get more than their money's worth when this game comes back home to Xbox One.

Im sorry to say this but this game just doesn't look that good or interesting today, maybe back in 2004 when it released it was something different that some people picked up but today I hardly think many would pick it up.
It looks slow, sluggish, empty and just not what kids today would be playing, who probably weren't even born back then.

What's with all the hate for this game. I think it looks cool. environments are great, the battle system is unlike anything I've ever seen. Are the graphics dated? Yes but I've seen games today, indies, that have throwback graphics worse than this. I hope this game is successful. I would like to see a Phantom 2

this looks good for what it is; an hd remaster of the original. i think anyone expressing outright vitriol should understand this probably wasn't that big fancy reboot that was teased in 2014 (i think)

at first I was like wth. But as soon as they mentioned its the original game then I understood what i was watching. but to be honest, if this game is as good as they say it is, they should remake it. And i guess their way of finding out if they should remake it, is to see if this becomes popular.

I'm playing this now (never played it back in 2004) and it's awesome--what would be cool is if for a true reboot/sequel, they use the destruction physics in Crackdown 3's Wrecking Zone to its full effect. I can only imagine how awesome destroying the environment would be with modern tech.

I'm so excited. I try to talk about this game almost yearly. No one ever knows what i'm talking about, but now I can tell them to give it a try. I cannot wait until I can get in to multiplayer again with triple speed and run around with psycho blade, just like I did at 16.

Day one buy for me, God I hope it has the same soundtrack I'm to this day still listening to the main lobby area song (club baroness -sayonara-) I played one online match and the two guys destroyed me. But I still hope it sells well enough for the sequel it deserves.

I remember seeing this title in a FYE for super cheap. Was one of the best experiences I ever had on Xbox. Loved the post-apocalyptic environments and anime art style. Shame the reboot was cancelled, and like many other gems, we won't get a current gen version.

I don't see a problem since not many people played the original. So showing a new generation of gamers the original might justify the sequel fans want. Who is to say that they will not get the new game back up and running when people see how great the game is.

The game actually does hold up pretty well considering. I've bought a lot of games that were originally released around that time on Xbox, but I've bought them on the PC recently and they don't look nearly as good as this game does. Really impressive.

Great developer; doesn't know the difference between screen resolution and aspect ratio.
Turned it off at that point.

Resolution isnt enough for this game. The old one still holds up fine. I rather them of just added original Xbox backward compatibility. That way I could just play the original. I mean this is just an HD remaster.
