Man committed a sin: disturbing the life cycle of nature. The original sin that man is responsible to: to protect the life cycle. Such eloquent diction is rarely seen amongst the prosaic banalities of video game dialogue. And yet, The House of the Dead Two manages to beautifully capture the essence of life and death in a single pellucid distillation comprehensible to even the most philistine among us. A truly defining work of art. Thank you

But seriously folks, I find it disappointing that as a result of games becoming such huge, massive, million dollar products bad voice acting doesn't happen as nearly as often. Could you imagine Resident Evil 7 with classic RE voice acting? It would absolutely ruin the product, but at the same time it would 300% improve the product.

Hey Polygon! would it be possible for you to start captioning your videos (or at least ones like VGT? This kind of audio can be very hard to process and understand, and for VGT it's clear that a script already exists! It would just make your great, smile-inducing content that much easier for me and other folks with issues processing audio to enjoy!

i love this series partially cause i love seeing these guys do weird silly shit but also cause you get to learn about all the terrible voice acting through the history of video games. turns out theres a lot of it!

Amazing and surreal performance as always from the VGT players. But, this is killing me, where on earth is the shark from in the credits? I can't remember for the life of me

I will love and tresure my 32 disk Blu-ray of all the video game theater plays, and behind the scenes making of's. Good bye you beautiful shadows of the stage!
reply

My favorite video excerpt from the credits is still Patrick and Simone dancing circles around each other. And bravo! Another wonderful video game theater!
reply

What I find really interesting about this is that for Simone's performance they just used normal footage of her standing in the office break room.
reply

Man I still kind of miss having Simone introduce the segments as well as close them out.
4/5 stars, not enough Simone, too much water.

The guy in the chair sounds like if Morrissey spoke the way he sang (and also he got to live out his supervillain fantasies in real life)

so much good material in this game but this scene is perfect. i wonder if the coliseum jumbotron cutscene was ever in consideration.
reply

I must watch this show too often. It's got to the point where I can recognise Simone from nothing but her shadowy silhouette.
reply

I really enjoy the Simone as PBS host character at the end of this series. The pretense dripping off the voice is killer satire.
reply

I miss the old masterpiece theater openings! It really helped set the serious and artistic tone of the show.

No living soul can see the Tetris video and survive; it has been forbidden for the internet-s own safety.
