Journey had an enormous impact on my life. I think about the twist at the end so often. There have been so many experiences in my life that paralleled that huge revelation. I think the only other moment in all of media that I can think of that compares to it is in Contact when Jodie Foster's character is finally traveling in the bubble. Engineers had been concerned about how the original design didn't include any type of chair. They insisted on putting a chair in, because without one, they claimed, it was dangerous. In the end, it was the chair, not the lack of a chair, that was dangerous. The moment where she gets out of the chair and instantly finds that she's floating, fully supported by the environment itself, is a feeling I try to hold onto as much as possible.

_Journey_ is my favorite game of all time. It's the kind of game I can consistently return to, all so that I can bask in a beautiful world where such a simple story feels so fresh and rewarding every time you reach the end of it. The human interaction is what really solidifies its place in my heart, though, because it makes the world all the more immersive and real to be. The lighting and color, the natural flowing pace, and Austin Wintory's masterpiece of a score all make the game feel like a living being, a friend you can always turn to for joy, comfort, relaxation, or any combination of these elements when necessary. It's a work of art and, for me, something that is essential for my life every now and then. I will never stop loving _Journey. _

I had the luck to play journey very recently without having been spoiled at all outside of having seen that it took place in a desert and what the main character looked like.
And - spoiler for what wil wheaton said with his hand up-
I was so overjoyed when i understood the other character i had run in, wasn't an ai. I don't know who they were but we traveled together for more than half the game i think, and that whole very under water like sequence with the huge mechanical creature i was honestly quite uneasy and we communicated a lot with the -sound- the characters can make and really waited for each other to go through all of it.
And that was awesome

I am not sure if dickproofing is a satisfying end game. Ideally players who are harmful to the community would be kicked out. This obviously clashes with the company's interests who don't want to alienate dicks who are happy to pour in the money. So instead they remove the ability to have free interactions. Ultimately this is an economic decision not a moral one. It saves them from having to moderate interactions, it saves them from having to deal with controversy when they inevitably end up being too light on the toxic playerbase

' then i saw their behaviors and i was like 'wait. that doesn't seem like an ai' also i had mini heart attacks at the end lol cause it became a game of cat and mouse i only wish my wifi had been better at the time bc i feel like that hampered my experience a little

There is a game that is very similar to -Journey-. This game is called -Sky: Children of light- I really enjoyed playing it. The best part is that you are not alone and there are other players in the world who you can and sometimes must interact with using all kind of emotes. I'm still not done with this game because there are many things you can discover. I also like to come back and see friends that I made in the game.

I wish I could play journey, but it's not available on PC where I can buy it. I'm still waiting on it. They're going into a little too much detail for me in this video it seems tho, so I'm going to have to pass on it. It's really a shame, I was able to talk to one of the head people behind it, but I haven't been able to play it for so so many years because of platforms.

Pat and Jenna are juuuust good enough to get me to watch something with Wheaton in it. Fun Fact: before he quit Twitter in a big hissy fit because people kept calling him Wesley, he blocked me and pretty much everyone else in Australia without any prompting or explanation. Weird dude.

I played this game once, never finished it though, cos there was a really scary thing I don't quite remember. But it was scary. It's like that similar triangle game where you swim around underwater, that was even scarier, or like last guardian, that's also scary, or minecraft tbh.

Pretty abrupt ending there, kinda like when news networks cut off an interview and it's obvious that someone was in the middle of a -paragraph- of speech. They cut off at the end of a sentence but it's clear there was more left unsaid -. That said, I love polygon

There's people still playing Journey? Holy crap that's awesome. I've been thinking about replaying it and coming to the conclusion that it wouldn't be the same because I assumed absolutely nobody would be playing now. Time to dust off the PS3 I guess!

On the topic of ways to communicate in games without vc, it's also so good for disabled gamers as well. Someone who physically or because of mental reasons can't speak. I love it.

I played through the whole game and didn't meet a single person, I don't know how, but I kinda feel like I missed out on a major part of the game because of that.

Apex perfected that ping system, but I really think it was portal 2 and warframe that put in that ground work

Hmm. Didn't know becoming a bride was how you got mad parkour skills. I guess I need a wedding dress, a veil, a train, and a man who wants to marry me.
