music is like any other selective recreation, and by that rule, is a matter of preference - the options given us, as chosen by an administering panel deciding which bands we must pick from, is another story to begin with; the actual talents, whom composed their style and sounds have only one commanding factor, which comes when they choose to submit their demo proof. after no or yes, the musicians must follow what is ordered, no matter to which studio they approach, as the overall control has been that board of judges, as only those nominated groups have officially been authorized to go fully capitalized, and you can only pay a band that has been so authorized. once famous, those bands in position get more control, having been proven by chart hits. on that note, it's going to remain somebody's matter of opinion!

This collection of songs brings vivid listening memories as a 12 year old who wanted to be radio dj or announcer. I had my FM microphone from Radio Shack and played these songs from my cassette tape collection in my homemade radio station. It's just like yesterday. And many of these songs have an enduring legacy as we hear tag lines and as bumper music for commercials and radio and tv programs to this day.

I was 13 and in the early times of high school. when these songs came out. Many hours listening while studying and dancing at school dances with this fantastic variety of music instilling itself into my soul. Thank God the songs survived through my college days and rest of my life too. We are blessed with listening to so much good music and classic lyrics.

Unbelievable year - 1976. I graduated from HS that year. It was the Bicentennial and things were pretty tranquil worldwide. Vietnam was mostly in the rearview mirror. It was just a tremendous time. Music was outstanding. Good movies and good television shows abounded. Memories.

I left school in this year (UK) and had a long break until October starting College - that gorgeous long, hot Summer.
With all this DIVERSE music too - it was bliss!
Has anyone invented a time machine yet to go back to that wonderful time

Anarchy in the UK, Don't Go Breakin my Heart. Why are Bohemian Rhapsody and Mama Mia also listed in 1975 too So many good songs from the 70s. Shout it Out Loud, Walk this Way, Turn the Beat Around. The year disco broke.

I was 12 in 1976 and I remember most of these songs. The 200th birthday of the United States! Disco was annoying but there was other music that I still listen to and it will never be out of style.

checked out of high school to race Motocross in 74 and never regretted it, listening to this crap only validates my decision. What banal junk food horseshit, lyrics and pure lunacy. Fernando lol

We didn't have Kiss or Heart in the UK, but we spared you in the USA from listening to Mud and Showaddywaddy, sorry about the Bay City Rollers. The rest of the music was great, I was 17.

You hit the spot right there for me sir - many memories flowed, good and bad. From being a physical and mental wreck now, you brought me back to when I was most happiest.

Graduated in 1976. Most of those songs were played on pop music stations. I'm more hard rock. listened to WMMR and WFIL before it changed to sports radio.

As a kid who grew up in the 70s it was fun to see the groups playing live, while I only have memories of hearing them on the radio.

I've seen Bohemian Rhapsody on the Best of lists for 1974, 1975, and 1976. Hmm.
I was listening to it in 1975 in the Fall.

Definitely had a great era it’s a shame new bands don’t take notice to how real music should sound like

Aerosmith I didn't know they were around in the late 70s. I thought that they began in the early 80s.
