So many I recall tied to specific wonderful memories from my Army Dad’s career early 70’s from his 8-Track and album collections as my family drove us around the country to visit relatives nowhere near our current Army assignments. Several on a tape that came with a new Buick he bought simply titled Buick. Such wonderful memories and such incredible music. We were blessed to grow up in those times and why we will fight so hard to protect what they gave us as this current mess tries to destruct what they delivered to us to preserve. I’d rather leave this world fighting to leave the same to our kids versus handing it over to them to further destroy.

Was a young boy in the early seventies and can vividly remember my mother asking me to play these songs on the eight track while she played canasta on Friday and Saturday nights with her friends. It was a great time to be a kid. My love of all music comes from those times. This was a great trip down memory lane! Thanks for posting it!

I used to keep this heavy transistor radio made of metal under my pillow and go to sleep listening to these great songs.
The great thing about those times were that no one thought of race, gender or anything else.
It was just good fun music.
I miss that world.

Kung Fu fighting was one of my favorite songs of that yr 1974. Reminds me of that summer, when we lived at 611 S Prince St. Lancaster, Pa. We lived with mom, listening to it 8/30/22. 7: 21am.

As good as Elton John is I can't honestly say his rendition of Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds is anygood. It certainly isn't as good as the Beatles Original.

I remember being in a bar when someone played Billy Don't be a Hero SIX Times in a row! Man, I came to really hate that song after that experience!

Everything I Own was released written and released by Bread (David Gates) in 1972. Ken Boothe's cover in 74 wasn't a 'best' by any definition.
