SMART Dogs Showing Off Their Problem Solving Skills I had two sweet gangsters too
Our beloved dog crazy Daisy was a mix of St Bernhard and a big munsterlander a german hunting breed. She was a giant baby girl with almost 100 lbs.
She tried so often to open the fridge but she dont get it - alone. Then our cat Bear stepped in.
His paws were smaller so he could open the door of the fridge.
Daisys time came again cause we put a big sack in front of the door so they cant open it - thats what we thought.
She pushed the sack away without any problem.
If the door was open a little bit Bear climbed inside and threw all cheese, sausages etc. out and they ate together

When I went to get a new dog all the puppies at the shelter were trying to escape from their cages by licking through the glass. Then I noticed 1 puppy who was doing the same thing, but figured out it didn't work. So he turned and tried chewing on the bars, but it didn't work. So he chewed on the lock, but it didn't work. So he tried looking at me with sad, puppy dog eyes. That's when I new he was perfect.

Dogs are great problem solvers except for one thing: trying to get a long stick through a doorway. Holding it horizontally, they keep trying and trying and trying. I watch their videos and I keep yelling 'TURN IT VERTICALLY! but of course they can't hear me (proving that I'm not very smart, either, I suppose.

They used to think the difference between humans and animals was that people could problem solve. Then, they found out that wasn't true. They did an experiment where they hung a fish from a string in the center of a room with a rolling cart. The cat rolled the cart over and jumped up and got the fish.

My dog Dodger was sat on the dining room chair next to me at a friend's house and she called him to go to her for a treat. We both thought he would jump down and go under the table but why would you when going a cross the table was quicker which is exactly what he did much to our amusement.

Gus knows physics. He placed the pool in front of the door centered, learned that pushing doesn't work, so pulled instead, saw the thing wouldn't fit as positioned, so turned it to fit. He adjusts his tactic as needed all the while determined to succeed. People can learn from Gus.

We had this gate in our house with this spot just big enough for our small dogs to fit through, but when one of our dogs had a cone on their head after getting fixed; she would walk backwards through the hole so the cone would close up.

Ha ha ha ha ha that is hilarious Those two working so hard to get it into the house. And they did it! Just a quick question, what did they do with it once it was in the house!
reply

Should have stopped the 2nd dog long before it figured out how to get on the counter. Now that they figured it out, they will keep going up there. Dogs do not belong on counters!
reply

Wow.
The second dog did a magic trick I can't even do(not that I can fit in a drawer)
All dogs were really funny and they were independent

I had a collie, totally smart. But, NO MEANS NO! wonder if they let their kids break the rules like this.

These were hilarious. Gus was so determined! But, that snow maze looks like the most fun thing ever!
reply

They digged that entire maze just for the dog to have 5mins of fun. They must love him a lot.

A smart dog
Is that like a smart tv
Does it need an app
Is it Alexa compatible

When you realize this is 3 years old and your trying to get 1K likes in a comment.

Why'd she let Gus spill so much water. People would kill to drink that much water.
reply

Train Gus it's not ok. Dogs and kids need limits. Mama or dad should be the alpha

The pool in the house is what my youngest ASD boy does with his toy electric car!

What a better way of taking a pool inside a house. A clever and smart puppy.
