Wild Squirrel Decides To Live Next To The Guy Who Rescued Him Wild Hearts To the sweet man who saved the beautiful squirrel Acorn. To be certain Acorn lives a long life and stays near you, just daily leave food out with a little bowl of water for Acorn. PLEASE DO THIS! You should leave Acorn peanuts and other nuts, corn, seeds, small cut up pieces of bananas, apples, raisins, cut up small watermelons, sunflower seeds, bread, and bird seed out for Acorn on a little table underneath Acorns nest. Acorn will be having babies and you can enjoy him/her for years. What a sweetheart story that made us so glad to see. Thank you for your great love and kindness to Acorn. Dont forget to feed Acorn on a little table under the nest Acorn built. Acorn will stay away from you and be semi-wild and you can see Acorn feeding on the table. Thank you!

Ngl I think you should’ve kept him as a pet. Cuz there’s nothing in the universe saying you’re not allowed to, all of us animals adapt to the environment we grow in more or less and it’s just sweet and cool that u guys bonded. Like it still worked out nice but I don’t think there’d have been anything wrong having him as a pet’. Imagine if it was primitive times still and a squirrel hung around your cave and you bonded, ain’t no one gunna be on ur back about it being wrong etc. that’s just a product of todays society. I think the fact you can even have that kind of relationship is a sign that it’s meant to be

As a man with five children and cut trees for 13 years of their lives I was constantly bringing them things home I want to say I probably saved around 50 to 60 squirrels babies before their eyes were even open I always started with puppy moment of course every few hours blah blah blah the good stuff fun fun but it's an awesome feeling to know that you're not stepping on a bug or you're not hunting when you don't need to or taking life unnecessarily it's an awesome feeling to give something another chance

THIS! This is the definition of a real man! Compassion, empathy, but also intelligence to know what needs to be done & have the strength to do it & the love to share it with his kids so they grow up knowing & understanding what it is to be kind. You can ALWAYS tell the mark of a person by the way they treat an animal & a child.

Yes he thinks you are his Mum. Genetic imprinting.
No, he can't survive going back to the wild. The best & only place for Acorn is with you. I think they live for about 20 Years. The best place for Acorn is where he is, he feels safe in your yard. Your going to see plenty of each other.

This was truly awesome. I wonder if the baby squirrel opened his eyes & looked up with you guys & was like wait a minute if I'm related to you then I'm a big friggin' human too! let's do this! Great Story Brother.

I don’t know what it is about seeing such gentleness, sensitivity and kindness coming out of a big tough guy that is so heartwarming. And, it’s clear that he’s doing a wonderful job with his children, too!

This is incredible. Also, I don't know how they came up with the name, but Acorn sounds exactly like eekhoorn, which is the Dutch word for squirrel.

You said you are proud. Please dont be proud. Pride and worship of technology and the military industrial complex has ruined this once great nation!

I wonder if people who shoot squirrels and eat squirrel stew,
could keep doing that after watching these type videos

I have a feeling the squirrel was a lady. Normally you can see the difference between male and female very easily

Are you sure Acorn is a boy I didn't see the ummmm evidence as I know on squirrels they are very aaaahhhhh evident!

At 1: 51 caption: the goal was not to make him a pet. Video: squirrel in the house, on the table, eating a cracker.

For all the squirrel owners who say their squirrel could not be released, take note of this video.

I love how the biggest, meanest looking guys are the most gentle. Bless you for saving this life.

Ha ha. I'm glad you encouraged Acorn to keep his wild side, and yet he is just a tree away from you!
reply

That's the beauty of releasing a squirrel back into the wild. He can still live in your backyard.

Big rugged dude with a big heart to go with it. Great life lesson for you and your children.

Animals in need really get my heart. That's a beautiful soul saving a beautiful soul.

You didn't make him a pet, you set him free. That was the harder but more correct choice.

There is no bigger privilege that when a wild animal chooses to be your friend.
