Yes, my cousins had a cat that they didn't treat the best. We got her, and a few weeks later, she started wandering the house more, Finally, after a few more days, she made it to the kitchen, the farthest place from her room in the house. Now she's she much happier. She follows me and my little sister around, always meows at the top of her lungs (non of the other cats do that and she is much smaller than the others while being 2 years old) She jumps on our lap, sleeps belly up, jumps on the bed and snuggles up with mom. I love her so much, and I'm so happy she is happy and safe. Before, she wouldn't even let anyone pick her up, but now I have no problem. She even purrs, which makes me so happy.

I find it sad that so many limbs on animals are amputated rather than saved. Cheaper. Right Easier too. My Persian kitten broke his leg. There were 3 choices, casting, amputation or open surgery and pinning. My neighbors cat broke her leg as well at about the same time. I elected to set and cast. It was so cute. My neighbor selected surgery and pinning. My cat was just fine after a couple of months in casts. My neighbors cat had complications and infection and ultimately had to amputate the leg. That cats leg looked to me like it could have been saved.

The Random Cat Distribution Centre sent injured cat her way because they knew she had a good heart and would care and love for that lost little one. We have a Vet in the UK called Noel Fitzpatrick aka The Bionic Vet, he's developed ways to save the broken limbs of animals rather than amputation. Its sad to see a little soul lose a limb so young, but she looks to be in the right home for a good life.

What happened to veterinarian medicine I took care of hundreds of shelter animals in my life. Amputation was always the LAST resort. A simple immobilization cast there would have been sufficient. In the past decade vets forgot all about treatments and therapies is all about the quick fast money$ of surgical amputations. This BRAKES my heart!

- the system cannot fail us if was never intended or structured to protect and serve us.
Government and all its various systems were erected to protect and serve their profit.
Which answers any questions as to why criminals thrive, abuse thrives and why animals and innocent people suffer profoundly. Unnecessarily.

They CAN save the leg. With metal plates. Not all vets can do that and I'm guessing that her vet was one of those. Sometimes they just like to amputate. Doctors. Oh, and you should all know that everything that can be done for people, can be done for animals. Remember animal testing That

0: 31 On humans, that kind of broken bone would not result in amputation.
I get that Vets go with amputation to save money.
How I wish there would be a time when Vets would progress and can deal with these kinds of cases affordably so they would not resort to amputation.

It is also wonderful what the exposure to an animal that will have special needs can do for a kid growing up. They will be directly involved without a word needing to be said, compassionate and mindful, helpful and kind. World needs as many of those as it can get!

She will be fine with three legs, just like my boy has been fine with only one eye. Animals accept and adapt. She has a great family who saved her and love her, and she has all the comforts of home. She will repay them with affection and many thank you's.

At first I thought you had two cats with the same coloring (one with short hair, the other with long hair, then I realized that it was the same cat Ginger from different angles
Your short-haired cat got the tail of a very fluffy cat

Little Ginger Ale sure picked the right house to get into! So glad the older kitteh has taken her on as little sister -- they even look alike! Thanks so much for being kind to her and helping her heal in body and soul.

She reminds me of my orange one when he was a kitten. I would have been able to turn my back on her either. As poor as I am I would have gone deeper in debt just to get her healthy and happy.

Sadly, you went to a hack veterinarian, that leg could have absolutely been saved. Or you didn't have the money for the repair surgery, in which case you should have just said so.

I find it ridiculous that despite that being a full break. They couldn't fix it. Screws, wire, ANYTHING. No reason to cut off a leg. They don't care it's not their pet's leg.

I have seen other stories about dogs and cats with broken legs with worse breaks and they are fixed. This leg could have been saved with pins. Did not need to amputate.
