Behind the scene filming for season five of Riverdale was like no other literally! Loads of new protocols and safety measures had to be put in place so the production could bring season 5 to the screen. While many of the new rules included regular testing, distancing and a whole lot of sanitizer, the actors became regular mouthwash users. Before every kiss they had to film, the actors would be given mouthwash to rinse with before any makeout sessions.
KJ Apa stays in amazing shape ten months of the year to look as good as he does on film but the work doesnt stop there. The actor spent plenty of time preparing in fight rehearsal, practicing until they were able to film the sequence without a hitch. Madelaine Petsch was busy in dance rehearsals to bring her dance battle moves to life.
When they werent busy rehearsing, the actors found plenty of ways to keep themselves occupied on set. Madelaine Petsch and Lili Reinhart took up rollerblading around as well as spending a lot of time playing with their dogs. Having fun activities to stay engaged with was important since their days could go on for a long time sometimes wrapping as late as 4am or starting before the sun even rises!
Vanessa Morgan brought an amazing performance to the fifth season and all while being very pregnant throughout the filming process! Michael Consuelos had a pretty unique experience as well, playing the younger version of the character his dad normally portrays while performing alongside his father Mark. The experience for the actors on this set was like no other, but they still managed to bring an amazing season to life!
