Rollers aren't just for grannies. This is how you use them! Heather: Okay Ive been using curlers and other styles for years, those are hot rollers and perhaps its my age lol but my grandmother did not use hot rollers as they did not have them back then! Now if you see this you should do a sponge curler set! Now those curls last for days! If I had the nerve Id do my own tutorial, ha, collab! Having said all that, have you ever seen a permanent wave machine from the 30s? It like a giant octopus! Clearly I am also a licensed stylist since forever! Hot rollers are good too but there is nothing like the curls that come from a good old fashioned sponge curler that youve slept on all night with a silk scarf wrapped around them! Another last fun fact in the theater I would take synthetic wigs and do them up in hot rollers, place in freezer and success each time. Never use hot rollers on damp or wet hair!

OMG! Brad Mondo did my go-to looks! Now, I just need violet roots. Not gonna lie, I pretty much DO NOT have 20 minutes in the mornings, so I've been doing sock curls as a wet-set on nights I wash my hair, or really tight curls with the flexible no-heat rollers on weekends, and then letting them relax out during the week until I wash again. Hot rollers are THE BEST. They're not just for grannies and pageants.

So it looks like Everyone has LONG HAIR then. only as usual thinking about the young. not everyone has long hair. Same as face creams. Showing only the young who do not need Face cream as they HAVE NO WRINKLES. So annoying. Talking about grannies. We Grannies are not like we used to be. Unless you sit in your chair all day watching tv. Most grannies are so active these days and not as described?

this really took me back. my mom and my grandma loves using rollers in the 80s and 90s! I had super straight hair and curlers would be the only thing that would sort of give me any definition. Of course though, they used a boatload of Aqua Net hair spray (oh the nostalgia) thanks for taking me down memory lane.

I used to use the tiny rollers on my shorter sideburn pieces. Reason, those were the pieces I would tuck behind my ears and since I have straight hair I needed that extra tightness. Within 3 hours those pieces would end up matching the rest of the hair from larger rollers.

Late as always (binge watching all videos) but I have ring problems as well sometimes and I twist and pull while my finger in under cooler water. Winter months aren't as bad for me but the hotter spring/summer months are so bad I hope this helps everyone!

Okay so I followed the instructions, with a very similar set, but I have shoulder length hair and when I took out the rollers my hair looked like a 1940s cosplay or a mom due and brushing it out just didnt seem to work it just bounced right back

I have really curly Afro hair and it's easier to just use rollers on wet hair. I add a leave in and a heat protectant then I brush the section and smooth the hair onto the rollers. Then you can use a hooded dryer or a blow dryer.

Holding an ice pack fir a minute or two will help remove rings in warmer weather. Soap and water works year round, (dont rinse soap off until rings are removed. Im sure you know this, lol, but not everyone does)

I know a grannie that used jello liquid as a setting lotion for rollers. It actually works. She also put eggs, mayonnaise vinegar and beer in her hair. All they really had was ivory soap and dippity do! Lmao!

For hot rollers I have to leave them in for a couple hours and spray each section as I roll them. I get curls that will last a couple days and when brushed out kinda looked like a 70s hairstyle lol

I have a curling iron. but whats the difference between hot rollers and curling iron? Can I achieve loose beautiful bouncy curls also with a curling iron for a perfect blowout come from the salon?
