I tested box dye again. I sort of changed my mind about it.

When I opened the box I was surprised that there was so little dye! (it was pretty much the same as your Mom used for her roots) I would probably only get halfway through! So I emailed them. In the first response they told me that my set is only meant to color the roots and if I wanted to 'freshen up' my lengths I could order some other product from them. In the second response they told me that my set indeed is meant to dye all of my hairs. Mix the color, dye the roots, wait 15 minutes and then do the lengths. I'm no expert - but leaving the color sitting in the pot for 15 minutes doesn't sound too good) This is hideous! I'm so disappointed with myself that I even thought this could be a good idea.

One thing I noticed. Usually with esalon the first time they send you two bottles. One is for the roots, and one is what they call gloss. It is a lighter brighter color that goes on the ends and shaft of the hair. And the roots being a darker color go on, naturally, the roots. This tends to eliminate hot roots. That is, however, a little more expensive for the extra bottle. The main reason I stopped using esalon was I wanted to change color. I was getting what was pretty much a 7RR, But I wanted to go darker with a purple undertone. They didnt seem to have what I wanted, which wouldve been about a 4 or 5RV. So I started buying my own professional color and doing it that way. I do miss esalon and I do wish they had a more extensive red violet collection.

After watching this, I'm thinking of trying them again. My first experience was kind of bad. I tried them last year during the pandemic. Even though I told them I did not want any red, they insisted on adding some warmth. I was just coloring my roots and they ended up orange. I cried, talked to them, and they told me they would send me new color, but I would have to wait at least two weeks to fix it. I was so upset because my roots looked horrible. They did send me a new color (sans red, but I wasn't brave enough to try it, so I used a L'oreal root kit that I had used before instead. It wasn't ideal, but it did fix my problem. I think I may try them again, assuming I get color that doesn't have any warm tones in it. Thanks for the video!

I tried this, took a couple of times to sort the colour out as I am a natural strawberry blonde, few greys, so I guess there is a red base. Finally got the right colour and then they changed it. The last one they send did not have the 'shine' solution, (your kit seems a little different) apparently this was now an extra, more money, it left my hair totally dull. Didn't purchase any more, Box was much better, high shine and no damage, just have to be careful with the colour as Box colour is always different in my case more red. Not sure where the $10 comes from mine was 30euros a pop plus extra for the shine stuff. (today 30Euros is $36. 36)

So I ordered this hair color BIG MISTAKE! I specifically said I didnt want any hints of red or orange and wanted one shade darker than the medium blond that I have. My hair is dark brown with reddish highlights! To make things worse they asked if had a keratin treatment, I answered yes. My hair is now a frizzy mess! The shampoo and conditioner has sodium in it that ruined my keratin treatment. Customer service said thats the only shampoo and conditioner they have and it goes into all orders. So buyer beware! I canceled and they could care less! Back to Sallys I go.

Thanks Brad. I started using Madison Reed at the start of the pandemic. cause. pandemic. The first colour was GREAT and I LOVED it. But around the 3rd time using it my hair started to feel thin. I figured well that sucks. but did not associate it with Mad Reed. But after searching the comments there are MASSIVE numbers of people that have the same issue. So, I am looking to switch and eSalon seemed a good choice. Thanks for your vid to reassure me that this is a good direction to go. and. my next colour will be with eSalon! You rock!

my gay best friend sells real estate and has taught me how to ride his horse and knows nothing about hair and beauty his lover is an interior designer and helped us furnish the apartment we are living in until we find the house we want in a way that will translate to a bigger space so we've not wasted our money he gets fashion but not hair and beauty, so I guess you'd fit in that slot I need to know how to find a good salon, I don't know anyone who vp; prd their hair for a referral so what should I look for?

I've used esalon before. I've previously used boxed die which made my hair look and feel like a bag of Doritos (i died my hair a light brown for years on end-using box die- so the damage was real bad) but I've learned my lesson and whenever I die my hair in the future I'm going to just update my color. I'm a natural redhead and my hair is so difficult to die. the last time i did it esalon makes it a lot easier. Thanks for making me know better brad: )

You may not see this comment but if you or anyone has watched this video, is this a good kit for someone with half highlights? My natural is dark blonde ( 6-7) and I think my desired with highlights anyways is around a 9.

I tried them not so long ago and the product is awesome! But the customer service is so slow, like loading a photo when internet was still new slow lol. I live in Norway so emails works best for me and I did not expect to wait a whole week between every reply, that was annoying AF. Other than that, nothing bad to say. I would rather use esalon than a store bought box dye any day.

I tried to take the quiz, but I have split dye and was like which do I choose? I had no intension of using e salon, but I was curious. I had a customer at Sally's today mention this brand and Brad and I was curious. I swear she named something else, but it sounds exactly like she was talking about e salon. Ive been using eSalon for about 2 years now and love it. I do my roots every 6-8 weeks or so. The first couple attempts to get a good match were close but not perfect. I loved that the colorist took my feedback and tweaked my formula accordingly, which resulted in a great color match for me. Its super easy to do my roots and very affordable.

Did you know they created a specific brand for men? I saw their pop up when I ordered a box, I hope this works! Especially since my last time attempting to dye my hair it faded too fast even with pro grade dye and I think that's because we may not have taken into acvount the natural reds in my hair before attempting to dye it blue

I am so grateful to have Brad with me as I eSalon. Side note my first box of black blue just to cover my roots did not do a thing. First formula was half black half blue. I have light brown roots. Im on my second box with a different formula with more black. let's hope for the best. Here we goooo, bestie
