Are you parting your hair the right way? Ryptoll: I spent my entire teens and 20's doing a middle part. Now I'm in my 30's and hooked on the side part. I feel like it just makes the most out of my receeding hairline without necessarily hiding is, and my thinning hair on top. To clarify, I'm not doing a combover, it ain't that thin lol. Just noticably less volumous than the sides. Also with this strong widow's peak I've got going on now, a middle part just looks really bad on me. I mean streaky thin front sections that my forehead shows through. So. I think my middle parting days are over. However, I do switch it up on occasion, mostly by just sweeping it all backwards or letting it be wild without any structural parting, or switch which side I'm parting it on.
As for my face shape, I can never figure which one I have because it's like a mix of several. Most notably a mix of heart, oval and oblong. So basically softer heart shape with a shorter forehead, but my face is also very narrow and no prominent cheeks. So basically it's just a very narrow oval with an extra pointy chin. Thus, sometimes advice for a heart shape works for me, other times advice for the oblong shape works better, yet other times I can go with whatever I want considering the oval-ish properties of my face. We aren't talking enough about having a mixed face shape, I think! I mean, I've been trying to pin down my face shape for several years by now. In regards to makeup, hair, eyebrows, anything, but it seems my shape just doesn't exist. Something ain't right.

I don't know how to style the front of my hair. My hair is slightly wavy and the waves do whatever they want, the length touches my shoulders but the worst part is the front of my hair - it's shorter and reaches the middle of my face. However, the front of my hair tends to make a really nasty wave/s which I cannot seem to tame. It feels like there's no hairstyle that could make it look okay. It's always like a bird's nest on my head.

Sitting here unsure of what my face shape is actually. Always presumed heart, but idk. I feel like my face is a weird hybrid shape lol. But once you said commonly with widows peak. yup I'm heart. Seriously, there is no styling advice for female widows peak. And I hate mine. I can do shit with parting. It just wants to look normal with center parting. Brad, female widows peak styling instructions PLEASE

My biggest fear is getting side thinning or a widow's peak. To prevent it I alternate my parts between opposite sides and then the middle after showers. In a week I'll wear all three parts. Also, when brushing, I'll brush the front half of my hair forward, making sure to pay extra attention to my hairline. It gives the hair a little extra volume and reverses the direction the hair is used to being pulled.

Brad! So ive been trying to do a center part as i have a rectangular forehead ao i want these long curtain bangs to cover the upper corners of the forehead. But my hairline starts so far back, that even with the center part, i feel like its not really covering much of the forehead. Should i go to a sharper side part? Or any suggestions on how to style the front?

I have an oval, but I have curly hair and an inverted widows peak and a cowlick on the right side, so I can really only part my hair on the left. I still like side-swept bangs. I try new things, but thats what I always go back to. A middle part makes me look like Im going bald. A right part makes me look like Alfalfa.

Ive been parting my hair on the left side for years and Ive heard its good to switch sides but. i have an off center widows peak, that is curly lol (it's weird bcuz just my widows peak is curly.
So if I do it on the right side it looks a bit weird lol. Maybe i will try a slightly off center part lol

Parting your hair is something you do everyday lol jokes on you, I live with my hair in a messy bun.
But asking for myself and my Mum, are there other options for parts with cowlicks? We each have one above one our eyes and feel like we have to do a side part on that side, but I want to branch out.

I used to be middle part. Can't even remember when I changed it. When lockdowns started I thought it was the time to train it - but couldn't get past the awkward phase. I have thinning on the sides and a bit of a cowlick - so would look good in the middle but just get it to cooperate.

I have a heart-shaped face and my favorite parting is the side parting, I think it looks better. However, I'm wearing bangs with center parting right now and it's also not a bad option. So I guess it depends. Either way, thank you for the recommendations, Brad Mondo. :)

This is the best styling tip I've ever seen. By off-centering my part by 1 inch, I've covered my droopy eye, covered my thinning patch, made my long face look rounder and accentuated my good eye. So simple, yet so effective. Thanks so much!

I part mine on the right side because I have a cowlick there and another straight back at the back of my head and it naturally parts there. I spent too many years fighting my natural growth pattern trying for a middle part.

Ok so I had a side part for the most longest
Time and I cut my hair and now I am trying
To get my hair used to a middle part because
my hair would look so weird if I still had my side
Part.
