Hairdresser reacts to pastel hair FAILS Sam: Brad can you talk about chemical reactions? I am a beauty school dropout from 2009 so a lot has changed but I heard if you use hair dye with metallic salts and then use bleach it can melt off your hair-even if it s been months in between. I think that might have happened to mine bc when I started to go back to blonde, a lot of it eventually snapped off. I also might have still had a build up of temporary colors along with a Brazilian blowout under the level 4 brown box dye and it couldn t handle the bleach. I tried doing some research and it seems all box dyes have metallic salts? Is that true? I worked really hard to get my hair long and blonde again (a year from it being a level 4 to the level 9/10 it s at now) and now I m getting really bored of the blonde. I feel basic and like a Barbie or some lady off Fox News lol but I feel like if I changed it, I d inevitably want to go back blonde so I m trying to figure out what s the least damaging thing I can do that would not result in a chemical reaction where my hair burns off when I eventually want to go blonde again. I ve had pink, copper, and brown and I can t decide what to do next but I want it to be warm toned and not harmful to my eventual bleaching again. My hair is a natural level 4 at the roots. Thoughts? Suggestions?

The first girl was one of those people that should just pay the extra money and go to a salon, she just doesn't have the skills to do her own hair, her application was messy and she didn't lighten her hair enough to do a pastel blue. Pastel colors, especially pastel blue, require the hair to be bleached to the lightest possible level because any hint of yellow or orange and the hair will just turn a nasty washed out green color. The same thing happened with the 2nd girl, she had the skills and her application was actually quite good but she didn't get her hair light enough to do a blue/gray color, I know she didn't want to risk damaging her hair with too much bleach but in her case she had no other choice to achieve the color she wanted. Going from a really warm red to a very cool blue/gray is hard, even for a professional stylist. The last girl just over-diluted her color. I think her hair was light enough for a pastel orange she should have went in with a more saturated color the second time around, not sure why she didn't do that? Makes no sense that was an easy fix.

Brad, I had my hair done yesterday, and even my hairdresser loves you! She thinks it's so sweet that you give tips since many hairdressers are secretive, plus now less people are messing up their hair! We love your demonstrations, reviews, reactions & personality! I'm obsessed with my hair & so glad I listened to your advice to wait to have it professionally done! I wanted to add blonde to my naturally level 6 hair. I have some magenta in the ends that didn't want to budge, any further attempts would have damaged it. She did foils & color that came out making the magenta ends look like an intentional ombre! I cut off at least 6 & it feels amazing!

BRAD I need help. so I'm known for my blue hair. But my roots never take. Luckily I'm a natural white blonde so everyone thinks I purposely do a blue ombre. So if I want to do like a brown color I'll look bald on top. My hair doesn't accept bleach well, AT ALL. Any other suggestions on how to get my roots to take? Thanks!
I've tried bleaching my hair to open up my follicles. I did that almost 3 years ago and my hair still can't be brushed out, wet. So bleaching isn't something I want to try again.

People seem to think hair dye is magic. I know zilch about hair, but I'm an artist who prefers color media that blend (watercolor, pastel, inks, etc. It befuddles me that someone would put a light blue over a yellow orange, and then not know how they got green. Am I just unusual for never losing grade school color mixing as instinctive, basic knowledge? Did no one else notice what you could do on colored paper and what needed to be done on white?

You can't really just go by colour when diluting semi permanent colour. How available the dyes are depends between products which means that some dyes will look like they still dyeing power left (Like the orange in the video) but actually don't, whilst some colour will look very light but will deposit almost all of the pigment in the mixture. In other words, some dyes need to be more concentrated to function and other don't.

You know, if the theory that gods ascended by the believe and collective prayers, plus immortality, . Does that make brad already a minor deity? I mean we believe and trust his gospel, call on him and his video will probably be long after all of us are dust be part of the internet or future other databases. Or is he just his eXtra self and follower of some god or goddess of hair(style&care?

Brad I have been waiting years for you to have Pretty Pastel Please in one of your videos! I love her and she plays with her hair a lot more after this! Her natural hair is a very pretty copper red. OMG Brad - I can't believe you finally had a clip of Alex from Pretty Pastel Please on your screen and still didn't find out that she has committed so many hair attrocities in the last two years that you could fill a month of videos with them. You somehow managed to pick the tamest thing she's done! I love Alex and her hair horror story. Long may it continue.

I prefer pastel pink when getting pastel hair. It generally meant the least maintenance for me. Although I have to mention that I would usually start with neon bright pink hair and let it fade out to a pastel pink. I do think that is the one of the few colours that look great whenever they fade out and even with a root showing.

I came along late to the show, how do get the girls to put the cameras in their mirror. Don t you ever wish you could come through right through the mirror and save some poor kid from screwing their hair out of their scalps. I know you are a reactor and can t, but sometimes. I want to throttle them.

I'm retwisting my locs right now. I did the vitamin c wash on my hair, it was red now its rose gold. Next week I'm dying it honey blonde. I did Vitamin c, dish soap and peroxide and it took alot of the color out. I know maybe 2 more of these washes would give me my blonde that I had under this red.

Thanks to Brad s advice on videos, two days ago I was able to successfully bleach my hair to a level 10 and dye it a blush pink without severe damage or my hair falling out. Thank you, thank you, thank you Brad. I am so glad to have found you and your videos. Love to you always, beautiful.

Coming from a woman who s shaved her head for years, I ve still learnt so much about hair from watching Brad and have such a hard time not watching some of these videos being like, Why girl, why! Plus, watching Brad hide to giggle and come back stone faced is relatable.
