How the South tried to redefine itself with peaches dancesinblood: The main street in Atlanta is Peachtree Street is quite the understatement. You can stand at the intersection of Peachtree Street, West Peachtree Street, and Peachtree Road. And from that intersection you can see Peachtree Circle entering onto Peachtree Road. And that is far from the only time you can stand on the corner of Peachtree and Peachtree
It's absolutely nuts

Adam i know you tend to respond to comments on new videos, I had a question about your Macaron video. I am on keto, and it seemed the only non keto ingredient on your chocolate macarons is sugar, can i replaced the sugar with granulated and powdered monkfruit and still achieve the same results? I didnt even know macarons were always made with almond flour until that video

So slavery was abolished, there was an entirely new class of people who needed work and money, and there were farmers that were willing to pay for their labour. I'd say the fact that southerners weren't vindictive and actually willing to hire former slaves is admirable. New South, new crop. Why not?

How did places like that golf club get away with not allowing black people until the 90s? Was there no anti-discrimination legislation or did it work through loopholes like denying them for fake reasons other than being black? I m not American so that s mental to me.

Adam, this video is a peach. As a fellow Pennsylvanian I was waiting for you to drop New Jersey's high production rate. I've even been to the New Jersey peach festival where they have as many kinds of peach foods as Bubba knows shrimp foods.

I've had actual organic peaches grown out of my grandparents' back yard. That one tree completely ruined all other peaches for me, they were ungodly sweet and juicy, and not rooted in racism cause I'm eastern European yaaaay

peach cities that pop up during harvest season in the summer sound really interesting - do you know of any good sources for learning more about them? particularly the cultures that formed during their short-lived existence

My father used to talk about a peach he remembered from his youth. He said it was small, cling stone and had white flesh. I have been looking and looking but I can't find it. I think it might be Belle of Georgia.

Imagine colonizing a new area and waiting for the peach seeds you brought with you and planted to actually produce fruit.
