That smashed chickpea salad is really similar to my vegetarian (vegan, probably) version of a tuna salad sandwich. I crave tuna sandwiches, but have become allergic to fish. I use: drained & rinsed canned chickpeas, S&P, spicy brown mustard, a little Vegenaise (I prefer this to regular mayo because it isn't so greasy, chopped onion, and chopped celery. Sometimes I'll add a little squeeze of lemon or dill pickles (in which case I eliminate the salt. Put on your favorite bread with your favorite crunchy lettuce and enjoy

How to make chic peas: put 3/4 C dry chic peas in a one quart slow cooker. Fill the pot with water to 1 inch under the rim. Add 1 tsp. salt. Turn on low. Go do life for about four hours. Drain. Bliss out. Nutty, plump, way more flavorful than canned and also cheaper. No, you don't need to soak them or add baking soda or have them baptized. Makes the equivalent of one 14ish ounce can.

OMG I LOVE The Great British Baking ShowAlso, completely felt on a molecular level, what Chris meant when he said, There are certain things you would do on the weekends that you're just never going to do on a week night. but on a weekend, you know, in like the afternoon light of Sunday, where you're feeling kind of optimistic and positive about the world, yeah. Same. Such same.

This video is full of spontaneity and surprises (fun ones)1. Andys entrance (having a whole bottle of wine and skipping gym)2. Chris making lunch for his wife 3. The expression that Chris gave when asking for knife (adorable)4. The way he cut the sandwich (with his pinkies on the air) and it turned out gorgeous

Havent use chickpeas before and saw hummus is made from it and i enjoy hummus. With all these other recipes, its interesting to see it so versatile. It would be so cool to make a series where each crew member of BA cook with a ingredient and show different ways to prepare it with a dish

Gah I love Chris but this was hard to watch with all of the ums and kind-ofs in the way. Maybe he was just having a frazzled day, could use some of that coffee eh hahaha. But yeah constructive criticism, please try to be more concise because ILY and want to watch your videos

You can assemble a salad before heading off to work? Are you coming to my house at 5: 30 AM to do it? Because this girl is doing nothing more than showering and putting on clothes before catching a 6 AM train. (today is an exception, broken foot, work from home)

Does anyone still cook with onion powder and garlic powder? Yeah. almost every day. I use a lot of fresh onions and garlic when a recipe calls for it, but I'll add onion, garlic powder, black pepper, (and sometimes celery seed) to any/everything.

I think I started watching BA's videos about a week ago (I started with the Gourmet Makes Poptart video) and I've been hooked ever since You guys really deliver quality content and I am living for it. I adore all of the chefs on the show. Keep it up

The toddler that was watching this with me said that Chris is cute and cool. Which made her brother run over to see what who was on the screen, and he decided that Chris was good. Keep on keeping on, Chris. You got two young fans in the making.
