While we have a list of ingredients, nobody really knows how Combos are made. There is little to no information about Combos on the internet, which begs the question: what are they hiding? But not to worry, pastry chef Claire Saffitz is on the case Join her as she attempts to unpack this mystery and make gourmet Combos Miranda: Delaney is right. Combos ARE the best gas station snack. Gas stations and road trips are also the only appropriate time to eat them as well. Pretzels are better than the cracker ones. Just straight up cheese is better than the other flavors. Watching these videos really makes me not want to eat the original ever again, especially pizza rolls.

I'm posting this kind of late so it might get buried, but I just want to say that I really love watching these videos and I appreciate the effort and attention to detail in these videos. 12: 40 you observed that the edge was too sharp, came up with a quick and simple solution with the twine, and then moved on to the next improvement. It really brings me back to when you talked about how Gourmet makes is a very scientific process. Cheers Claire GL on your next project

Gourmet Makes finally reached the point where, as an European, I dont even know what shes making. Never even heard of it. That said, great idea: Gourmet Makes Tour. Where they pick a country and try to replicate one of their most famous snacks.

Never had Combos, I don't think they're sold anywhere in Europe. But I can imagine how great Claire's version would taste with actual pretzel dough. I might actually try to make something like that.

Claire, please please please make hi-chews Admittedly, they're like starbursts but they have a significantly more artificial after taste that really taints the pallet for a decent amount of time

I have a ton of diet restrictions and allergies and tbh I did not know these existed before this video. Like i had seen them but I just kinda assumed it was bugles?

I'm am now obsessed with finding that patent. I wonder if Mars is vague about it because the manufacturing technique was originally intended for pet treats.

Am I the only one who squeals when I see a new Gourmet Makes video? And then I immediately get nervous for Claire. And then I turn into her biggest cheerleader.
