Used to cook bacon every morning. 12minutes 425, atleast in the oven i used. 30 seconds to short its a bit floppy, 30 seconds to long its gets dry. i can see why they say cook it slowly because if you dont have an eye on it, well goodluck.
It was for sandwhiches so the bacon has to be crispy. If its too soft you pull the whole peice out when you bite it. If its to hard, you lost the flavor. You want it slightly brittle, but not so much it falls apart, you should be able to pick it up but it breaks when you bite.

Fun fact: Kosher salt is frequently enriched with iodine. The reason it's even called kosher salt is that the Yiddish word, kasher which means curing - as in curing meats - lent itself to coarse salt, and so America adopted that as a catch-all for coarse salt, which we in Europe simply call. you guessed it: coarse salt.
reply

Jamie, kosher salt isn't blessed. All salt is kosher. Kosher salt should be called koshering salt because the requirements for koshering meat needs a pure flake salt.
Diamond Crystal is the best available. Look at the ingredients: salt no anti-cake or other addictives

The air fryer is blowing the air at high speed - hence the noise. This is trying to do what an impingement oven does and blast away the boundary layer of air between the cold food at hot oven. This is why it cooks faster/gets crispier.

My question is. How is possible for Jamie Oliver to have the same knowledge as the rest of chefs at the table. Given how many times he has been criticized by others cultures for messing up their national crusines.
reply

Kosher salt isn't blessed. It's purely about texture. It can also contain iodine and still be kosher salt, though normally doesn't. Sea salt in the UK is quite a bit different, and not a standardized density/flake.

I actually saw guga foods experiment about getting the steak out of the freezer, i think he only did it for half an hour but he didn't notice any difference so i'm glad to have learned today that it does!

2: 00 I agree, I was thinking of taking a date to a steakhouse but during a conversation I asked how does she like her steak and she said well done I changed my mind and took her to a nice Italian reactant.

Jamie Oliver both knows things about cooking and yet knows nothing about cooking. It’s a very interesting juxtaposition how he is simultaneously knowledgeable yet ignorant. I love that for him.

Uncle Jamie not a real chef, he's more like a food historian focused solely on alternative timelines, where traditional dishes took a dramatically different, often unexpected, turn.

Anyone who uses a mandolin without wearing a chainmail glove needs some basic sous chef lessons. you will also be able to slice and chop without fear when wearing a chainmail glove.

One of these 'chefs' is not like the others.
Jamie Oliver is not on the same level as the other three in ANY capacity. I have no idea why he's there, but it's embarrassing.

The sad thing is that BA probably paid Olive Oil the most to appear on this. What an insult to the real chefs. No like, no watch through. Really poor programming BA.

I was so surprised when I saw Jamie Oliver as one of the chefs, compared to the other 3 chefs. I guess Gordon Ramsay wasn't available and so he was the alternate: )

A bacon tip that has worked for me is that I cut my bacon strips in half. I found that the half pieces cook way more evenly and faster.
reply

Jose andres for someone that breaks the rules of cooking, he’s telling people how you supposed to eat bacon. Crispy all the way chef!
reply

It's downright insulting for Jamie Oliver to be sitting at that table. Might as well throw Rachel Ray up there while you're at it.
reply

Would have been better to keep Jaime out of the group. The only thing he can teach is how to mess up different world dishes.
