Mariah Carey Vs. Alton Brown: Whose Sugar Cookies Are Better?

Mariah Carey Vs. Alton Brown: Whose Sugar Cookies Are Better?

Alton's sugar cookie recipe is about as simple as it gets. No flavoring, no fancy ingredients, it's basically just sugar, flour, and butter. Mariah's recipe isn't ALL that different from Alton's, but the major difference is the flavoring. Watch to see who won this Christmas cookie battle

In fairness to Alton Brown, he explains his sugar cookie recipe is a BASE to be modified for several types of cookies. In the episode of Good Eats he used that dough to make chocolate mint pinwheels where he added vanilla extract. Also, some people add flavoring to their icing like almond extract which may clash with the lemon.

It irritates me to NO END that you guys introduce each contender as ex. 1 & ex. 2 THEN proceed to prepare the recipes in contestant 2 then contestant 1 order. Who raised you, you animals! Get your shit together.

Neither of them, I follow Dolly Parton sugar cookie recipe it-s all over the Internet, I-ve been making those for years, and I always get compliments from everyone. These two recipes don-t even compare.

What if Alton Brown's recipe was plain because it was designed to be eaten with icing? Then this would be a completely unfair taste test. Maybe someone could have found out, eh?

Alton-s are technically perfect. It-s about essence of a sugar cookie, tasting it did what it is not what it-s trying to be.

What is with that one person's obsession with the 'crack'. -These taste crunchier. - What! When they crack they're usually too dry.

I would have just given the women with the blind fold 1 of each. She literally touched all the cookies with her hands! ---

Everytime I see an Alton recipe he adds like NO flavoring. How is this man a food network star who gets to judge other chefs?
