How to Roast a Duck - Hilah Cooking
video description
Seriously, I wash cucumbers and tomatoes for the same reason. And I probably splash cucumber germs on the counter, too. LOL
I admit that I've never done a duck, and you've just made me want to try one. You've taken some of the mystery out of it.

Not at all! For one, rising the bird would only remove SOME of the bacteria, on the outside only. So it's not like we are trading -sanitized- for -unsanitized- when discussing rinsing.
But mostly, it's because the cold temp of the fridge inhibits bacterial growth, AND I am assuming that the tray you have the duck on doesn't have any holes in it and all germy duck juices are contained in your tray, not dripping all over the fridge, which WOULD be a contamination risk.
Hope that helps! :)

My husband bought a duck last night and I've never cooked one before, your video helped me a lot, I have all the ingredients except the orange which I will get today, and tomorrow I'm going to surprise him with a lovely dinner on Father's Day. btw, I love your sense of humor, keep it up and thank you for the upload.

You wwant to be vegan, go right ahead. But don't berate us that DO eat mean for doing what is REALLY natural. Humans have been eating meat since the beginning of our existence. We aren't going to stop just because it bothers you. Now if you'll excuse me, I'm going to have lunch, part of which consists of Venison.

Yes, a duck is such a unnatural thing. Everybody should switch to totally natural soy meat imitates.
I -wonder- what vegans would think if there where people that would write -GO CARNIVORE- under every vegan video? At least you guys should understand being annoying never changed anything.

Thanks for mentioning not washing poultry. I have been hearing that for a while but it is hard to convince people not to do it. Maybe with enough repetition it will sink in eventually. Another great looking recipe and open to a variety of seasoning options as well.

Yikes! Yeah, I heard of ducks doing that to people, too, but never happened to me during my trials (we've been eating LOTS of duck lately. But I also saw some recipes that call for cooking at 500F and maybe that contributed to the smoke, too?

Unnatural? You must be cray cray, if you compare a humans teeth to carnivorous animals and herbivorous animals ours are in between. Hence us being omnivores; also humans drink human milk, how is that much different than drinking cow's milk.

You're pretty quick to be -pretty sure, - aren't you? Considering that we've never met, you've never been in my kitchen, and you don't know me at all, I'd have to say that I'm -pretty sure- you must be psychic. Or daft.

like how you bring it up. only thing for rinsing, i'd suggest rinsing the duck. True about germs they all get burned, but rinsing will eliminate certain stains and odors which would otherwise stay, like blood for example.
