Bodega Truck is the first and only chopped cheese food truck in New York City. Ride along with owner Jeremy Batista, aka Chop Cheese Papi, as he starts the 18-hour workday as early as 3: 30 a. m. to pick up ingredients, snag a parking spot, and serve fresh, hot chopped cheese in the city's busiest neighborhoods.

yeah a chopped cheese should be 5-6 bucks, u are really overcharging when i think about it! but then u have good proportions and need to pay the gas bill. Also NYC pushes regular folk out cause price of everything goes up all the time. if it come with fries and drink i'd pay 13. that what BK or McD's would be. it is nice to go to all boroughs. i would think the middle class person in Astoria who can afford a house would be making 100k a year with both spouses working at least. not the ghetto like brownsville or bed stuy bklyn.

Great story. I love seeing hardworking success stories like this. The way he talks about his profession you can tell his product is made with love and is probably great. I’ve never had a real chopped cheese (I tried making it myself) but I have a hard time believing it’s better than cheese steak. Never mind that though, I’d happily buy lunch from this dude every day of the week if I had the chance

The hustle is real! Mad respect for Jeremy taking the original NYC Chopped Cheese to the people via a food truck. Basically he’s working outside in the elements like so many NYC street vendors. As the city loses its culture, stripped away by greedy landlords At some point it’s people like Jeremy that will remain as a relic of what things used to be. Peace from Astoria

Seems like a cool as cat and work ethic seems solid. My only issue is almost everything in that food truck used was frozen/pre-packaged. Sauce is probably a mayo, ketchup, mustard blend. I guess, I was thinking we were going to see something proprietary or special - not a deconstructed cheeseburger. Either way, many props to his family and employees.

The part where he talks about the hassles and costs of running a food truck business infuriates me. Those are the types of people that NYC should be spending tax money to support. Instead they spend billions on people who have nothing to contribute to society, and nickel and dime the everyday hard-working heart-of-NYC type people like Jeremy.

For the best chopped cheese in NY, you have to drive south for a couple hours and order a cheese steak.
Edit: Snarkiness aside. that Dominicank on Fries has inspired me to drive a couple hours north! Looks amazing. I'm gonna have to try that soon!

he couldve been more famous and made more money if he actually goes to more locations then the same 5 over and over. wed to sunday. so far out of reach from people who dont wanna go all the way to way up town or queens or whatever

I hope he's good at napping because that guy gets no sleep, home at 10. 30, up at 3. 30 will break you, not to mention you'll have a heart attack at 50. Plus wife hasto do everyone at home by herself.

These NYC viral food videos about a particular spot or particular bodega ignore the fact that you can literally walk into ANY corner bodega and get the same sandwich and it'll be just as good

I thought the point of the chop cheese is to get a sear on both sides of the burger and then chop it up and add the cheese. Dude isn't getting much sear on all that ground beef.

How is he going to say don't take soits from trucks that have been in the area for a while. But then says its first come first serve. The older truck should've been early then.

the food looks great of course, but just seeing how much genuine passion Jeremy puts into every aspect of the business is what made me watch the whole video, very inspiring!

damn the part about being a kid and not realizing the parent's grind resonates with me so much as a take out kid. respect the grind and work ethic, keep it up.

That's a hard working team: ) and don't think those prices are crazy you can easily pay that were i live for a lot less food an doesn't have that love put into it

Seeing him give so much credit to the women around him that helped build him along the way, that’s a good man right there. Keep doing your thing bro!

tbh theyre not the only Chopped Cheese food truck, its just cuz nobody else wants to do chopped cheese when other things are more requested like the basics BEC

easy to do when growing up in such an environment, he basically learned it from the getgo. that cheese blend. idk cant taste much besides that i guess
