On this episode of Handmade, John Truex and Liz Seru, co-owners of metal casting workshop Borough Furnace in Owego, New York, show us how cast iron pans are made by hand, from designing, casting, sanding, seasoning and beyond. Ricardo8388: I feel like the handle should be turned. Lets say you put a lot in this pan. pretty heavy pan. you got these 2 sides stickig in your hand and the smooth part of the handle is on top? That doesnt make sense.

I do not get this at all - for me, one of the appeals of a (non-enameled) cast iron pan was I could buy a great pan for 40 that would last several lifetimes. I am not sure I see the value in paying 5-10x that price

Not gonna lie, these pans are kind of a rip of. Unless you really want a pretty pan to show off, you can find one for a 5th the price on amazon that will work just the same if you give it a little love.

Rather than spending 300 on a 10. 5 skillet, just buy a seasoned Lodge 12 for less than 30 and then buy a pound of japanese wagyu and enjoy eating the steak with still money to spare.

I like their solution for a cool handle on the pan. I'll probably still grab it with a towel due to the PTSD I have from previous pans, though xD

Is it just me, or does the audio crackle and pop, I was playing on speakers, and had to play another video to confirm it wasn't them (the speakers)
