Just my two cents, if you're going to do a review of something, do it without the smug condescension or why do it at all? I mean, if you're going in with the preconceived notion that it sucks because it's cheap and for the low brow masses, then why? Say what you will about McDonald's but nothing in the world comes close to their signature taste. Sometimes that's exactly what folks crave and no gourmet burger by any up and coming young chef using the finest blend of obscure cuts of expensive beef can substitute. If you think that makes those folks deserving of being condescended to, or worse yet you're not even aware of your condescension, perhaps a bit of self-reflection is in order. Hint: If you find yourself making a nasty face and practically spitting out food in a manner that everyone knows is a melodramatic overreaction because no one believes a bite of anything from McDonald's would reasonably create that reaction, cut and retake the scene because you've just committed smug condescension. I'm not saying you have to do a positive review, I'm just saying it would reflect better upon you to do a negative review without the smug condescension. I watched this anticipating an honest review. Reviewing something you obviously already dislike from the get-go doesn't produce an honest review. To use jargon from the world of ethics, under those circumstances you should recuse yourself.

I can't trust a guy who raves about In-and-out and then turns around and says this is awful. I mean, I've eaten at In-and-out a ton, but it's not because it's good food. The stuff is what it is and that goes for every single crappy burger place that the locals rave about in every town. Town Topic in Kansas City? Dick's in Seattle? The Apple Pan in Los Angeles? All crap. But at the same time, no crappier than In-and-out or yeah, even McDonald's. The stuff just is what it is and I think it serves a purpose, but I'm not going to lie to you and tell that any of the above is high quality and delicious. I've taken so many out of town visitors to In-and-out (because they all MUST try it, and at the end of the meal, everyone is always very eh in that sluggist, post-fast-food way. In my mind, this isn't a bad thing -- it just is.

What a terrible food critic. It's the same burger of different sizes. They all taste pretty much the same. The first bite was just special sauce, and it was not pleasant. Well, whose fault is that? He gave the burger a bad review because he didn't bother to center his meat patty? If he was too lazy to do that, why didn't he bite where there was meat? He didn't even take a second bite, and judged the burger without taking a bite of the beef. What a moron. And then he gave the Grand Big Mac a poor review because it was too big to fit nicely into his mouth, and there was too much lettuce? This was a poorly done, and unfair review. It's like some anti-corporate anti-capitalist liberal organization hired him to trash McDonald's, one of their favorite targets for propaganda.

The Big Mac does not deserve to be on The Meat Show. It's not a hamburger, it's a pickle and mayonnaise sandwich with a tiny bit of beef for flavor. The proportion of actual beef in that burger is so small it practically classifies as a garnish. A mouthful of the Big Mac doesn't taste like beef. I bought one to taste the famous so-called hamburger and I threw most of it in the garbage. And I was hungry and love hamburgers. I hardly tasted beef in it. Just bread, pickles, mayo, and pathetic undersized tasteless unseared limp patties that are half soy protein imitation beef filler. It's an imitation hamburger as far as I'm concerned.

Why even bother? You already have a chip on your shoulder about this, so it just seems like going to watch them fail and to mock them for it. I respect that you actually are willing to admit when you don't totally hate it. I don't particularly love McDonald's, but why go and do this? Pfft. Thumbs down. I guess I think this video is like this pointlessly negative comment. Except no, I came here thinking I probably would like the video. You went to McDonald's expecting to dislike it - perhaps even wanting to dislike it? Pointless negativity (is it pointless negativity to point out pointless negativity.

Grand Big Mac. #Grandflop! I bought one and it was essentially bread, lettuce, sauce, and thin patties of meat. I called to complain and was offered as lame excuse about all the area McDonald's running out of the patties for the sandwich. My response was why wasn't I told when I placed my order? I got a bunch of I didn't knows. They offered a replacement, which I picked up the next day. same sorry ass little patties on sandwich with excessive bread. I have not been to McDonald's much in recent years ans I am officially done. #don'tbelievethehype

The first time I saw the Grand Mac was in Paris, France. I tried it, but wasn't overly impressed. As Nick points out here, the ratios feel off, to much bun and lettuce, to little meat. Personally I think they should've gone with an approach similar to what I hear they have had at McDonald's Japan. Instead of making the bun wider with wider patties that are still really flat, the standard bun, but with the quarterpounder patties making it taller and giving it a better meat-to-everything-else ratio, could've been a real winner.

I worked at McDonald's back in high school, and the Mac Jr. was around back then. It was sort of on the hidden menu. It's literally the exact same thing as the Big Mac, but with less of everything. One patty (as opposed to two) of the same meat that goes on the Big Mac. Sesame seed bun that is used in the Big Mac, just missing the center piece. Lettuce, onion, pickles and Special Sauce, which all go on the Big Mac, just in larger amounts. If you like the Big Mac, there's no reason to not like the Mac Jr.

They all taste exactly the same in my opinion, and that's what they were going for isn't it, just larger and smaller versions of their flagship? They all taste relatively bad compared to a real, hot and juicy American hamburger with the works. Micky D's is not gourmet, they are fast food for kids (and adults who remember being kids) but not somewhere I'd tell a foreigner exemplifies America's iconic food item. former McDonald's worker (c 1979.

I get the hate for Nick, I do, he comes across a bit elitist in this video but let's not pretend that McDonalds is a high quality of food. You get exactly what you pay for. There is terrible nutritional value and minute taste experience in most of their meals, so I also understand what he's getting at. When you've sampled the best meat the world has to offer as Nick has, how could you be anything but disappointed by McDonalds?
