On this weeks episode of The Meat Show, host Nick Solares visits chef / owner Richard Turner of highly regarded Hawksmoor restaurant chain, one of Solares favorite steakhouses. In a private dining room at the newly minted Borough location of Hawksmoor, Turner prepares a feast fit for a meat show host, highlighting British produce and traditional dishes like roast beef, Yorkshire and suet pudding, and tallow fried chips. Turner is a proponent on grass-fed beef and he is not shy about his opinions. The two discuss the differences between grass and grain finished meat while consuming an epic beef feast

Just the fact that killing that animal just to eat it, is offensive to some people. So what? There are many, many things in this world that are offensive to many, many different people. We can not afford to fall into the trap of avoiding every possibility of offending someone. If we do, we will tie our hands (and tongues) forever. Life will be unenjoyable!

Mince only becomes edible when they call it tartar and slap a big price on it. otherwise everybody would be saying why are people not getting food poisoning all of the time. Goes to show you can eat raw beef anytime.

The crass conviviality of the grass-fed meat when you cut through it, and as you put it in your mouth, the herbaciousness that hits your palate, it's almost as if you're eating seasonal greens salad really.

I like how Nick ends the video with we could argue all day long about grain vs grass fed beef but his only argument for grain fed beef was oh grain fed beef is unnatural and unethical? fair enoughlol

never have I wanted to tell anyone to stfu more than when this Nick was being served a very exclusive dinner which he most likely gets for free, and does nothing but talk about how he prefers smt else.

Don't these guys know that American beef cattle are grass fed after they been weened then brought to a feed lot to fatten up before slaughter. Our cattle are a mixture of grass/grain.

I hope one episode they give him non aged beef and tell him its aged, he will still talk about the funky dry aged platonic notes coming from the maillard reaction.

Kinda offended by this dudes lack of knowledge yet constant bashing of American beef as tho all beef here is stuck in a feed lot and force fed corn.
