At Down North Pizza in Philadelphia, not only do Muhammad Abdul-Hadi and his team serve some of the city s best pizza, but they are also providing jobs, housing, and legal representation to formerly incarcerated individuals. William: Major props to Down North Pizza and the insight it takes to keep moving forward. We all could take lessons and insight from the awesome team and their foundation for bettering the neighborhood and the people employed there. The pizza's remind me of Sicilian style pizza I made for Noble Roman's here in Indiana. Love the crust and sauce on top of pizza. Wish I could try all your pizza's. Keep the heart and love for what your doing and Peace be with you always.

As a Detroiter this video pissed me off! First off when they first opened they were on the JL Jupiter show and not only did they keep saying that it was Detroit style pizza if I'm not mistaken their original name was Detroit style pizza or something like that and now all of a sudden Detroit gets no credit now he says oh these are the old Detroit car pans then says these pizzas were like the school pizza BULLSH! T just keep it real

Never thought about the corrections system needing to recycle people to maintain itself. And to be incarcerated for 27 months on a six month bit just because the officer wouldn t/couldn t show up is a travesty. I hope they expand to own the PHL pizza market. How they ve remained so positive in light of what each of them has been through is mega-inspiring.

The average prisoners costs 105 per day to lock up that s nearly 1. 5x the average wage of the average American. They aren t slaves they re barely paying for their upkeep and why should the tax payer fund their incarceration. It s a joke calling them slaves. Slaves didn t choose their circumstances

With the DOW if you were to use cold water with the DOW does he make sure to lock his DOW before heading to work and making the DOW. I used to ride the city buses in Detroit and when the driver didn't open the back door. the guys would yell BACK DOW. DAMN I'd like to help grease him up all night

Use them at a fraction of the cost? Do you know how
Much it costs the tax payer to keep a prisoner in prison? They aren t making money off the prisoners they re making some money back for keeping them in prison. Their choices led them to prison.

Fuuuuuudddggggeee yes. I been on mandatory vacation more times than I can count. State and county. You guys are amazing. You mentioned what we called a Cadillac ramen noodles, cheese, and crackers. I appreciate your understanding of prison life.

I appreciate what y'all do to give people that have been incarcerated. Everyone deserves a chance instead of going back inside the wall. I did time myself of 10 years and I know what it's like. More people should offer excons a chance.

This man is such an artist and so intelligent, eloquently describing the perverse incentives of private prisons in a few sentences. It's criminal that the state can lock up people for no reason at all.

Damn, that pizza looks good. Wish I didn't leave the area. Would love to try and support.
Prison is for profit. System is broken until we can fix it. Best of luck to the greatest City in the US!
